Thanks for sharing the Sten pictures from France! Need better pictures of that serial number but it appears to be FZ, which would make it a late production ROF Fazakerley assembled gun(most likely since Fazakerley assembled the most MKIIs).The B&T is a sub contractor mark and mostly likely stands for Broadhurst & Thompson. They only made magazine housings so maybe this was a sub contractor anomaly. Further research is needed, bu All this information came from the Peter Laidlers wonderful book The Sten Machine Carbine. Its expensive now. But it is an unequalled resource.

First off, let me say this is the first chromed Sten Ive ever seen It definitely is a historically important Sten. But as others have said the Canadian market for these guns is extremely limited. The American transferable Sten prices are 90% paying for the tax stamp and or C&R status. My guess for a value if it was a C&R transferable MG in the U.S would be about double the price of a C&R transferable or $20,000. But since it is in Canada to me that makes the gun lose about 90% of its value so its probably worth around $2000 give or take. Honestly the best possible place for this Sten to end up would be at the Royal armories collection. Its full of amazing guns that are at the same time priceless historical items and just about worthless on commercial market due to the legal situation in the U.K. Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Thanks for the response M3bobby. I think your theory is quite interesting, wish these old guns could talk. The magazine well has always puzzled me on this Sten. its shiny finish is not one i have seen on any other Sten. Also the the letters look almost hand stamped Ive read somewhere that the England stamp is possibly from a 60s era import by interarms but Ive been unable to confirm this.

Belgium Manufactured Sten
WinSten replied to Odinsravens's topic in Sten, Sterling, and Lanchester SMG Message Boards
Very interesting The Belgians produced a large amount of MKII Stens post WW2 at the Racour Arsenal for their own use and export. Ive seen it mentioned that the British Acquired around 3000 of the Belgian Stens for testing in 1952. The guns failed to meet their standards for parts interchangeability. Would be interesting if you could compare it side to side with a British produced MKII -
C&R Sten MK1/MK2

I believe an R prefix stands for RSAF ( Royal small arms Enfield). They also used an E prefix. But both examples are documented in Peter Laidlers Sten machine carbine book.
