NORTEXED
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v368/NORTEXED/E.jpg The New Service belonged to my Uncle's brother, who was sheriff of Denton County Texas at on time, and the 08 was my Uncle's Dad's. He owned a hardware store in Denton County, and was given the 08 by the Colt rep for high sales. He carried it in his coat pocket while he made rounds collecting on accounts for the store, and my Dad (12-13 at the time)would drive him around. The old gentleman would lean out the window and shoot fence posts to "keep his eye sharp". They left them to my uncle, he to my Dad, and my Dad to me when he passed away in 2004. I scoured the web for months to find the 2 boxes of ammo for the display, and although they are complete, the .45's box is a little rough.

OCM
Nice guns, might consider wrapping the shells in plastic to keep them together. Purists was acid free plastic. Example-
NORTEXED
Good idea, where do I get the acid free plastic?
OCM
I used plastic that is used to store movie posters . Probably not that big of an issue. I think the point is to keep everything together, solid.
ron_brock
Good idea, where do I get the acid free plastic? I order mine from Brodart. For wrapping ammo boxes, I have also used bags for storing comic books. Just cut open at the seams and wrap around the boxed. Use acid free tape (can get at Walmart in the scrap booking area) to close it up just like a Christmas present. Ron
