Got Uzi
Ive had a rough week so far and needed to do something for me for a change. I decided to take the wire edm blanks out I designed a few months ago, and finally finish it out. Took me a couple hours to fit and finish the mount but I gotta say-it is worth it!! Here are the results.... Edited January 26 by Got Uzi
DZelenka
Interesting, you have a broken stock latch and no rubber on the butt stock same as mine. I have a replacement stock and latch but haven't figured out who to send it to for the work.
Got Uzi
There were two different types of latches and used on them. From what Ive seen there was an early and late pattern. Same goes for the tail cap used to lock the bolt in.
Got Uzi
My pre sample Swedish K has that lock. Id never noticed it in the pics (my pre sample isnt home yet) Edited January 26 by Got Uzi
DZelenka
My pre sample Swedish K has that lock. Id never noticed it in the pics (my pre sample isnt home yet) That looks just like my Pre-May except my latch is broken. I haven't heard about the two different latches. As far as the end cap goes, I think that is the difference between the m/45 and the m/45b.
StrangeRanger
Is the latch difference a Carl Gustaf vs. Port Said thing?
tomk
Do you guys need a stock latch? Let me know if you do. Interesting mount. I was thinking of a mount that would fit in holes on the heat shield with a screw that would either pull or spread out two ends that fit into the holes to lock it in place. Add bar with rail on top for mounting stuff. Another idea was to use the holes for the removable maxwell as contact points for a rail... I just had ideas. You made one. Congrats! Let me know on the folder mechanism needs.

Let me know on the folder mechanism needs. I'm good on the stock latch. I also have a new stock and a set of rivets. I just need to get off of my ass and find someone who can do the work and refinish the gun in to its original finish (which I have yet to determine). I know that it isn't the green paint of the m/45b model.

tomk
John Andrewski rebuilt 2 transferable Swedish K's for me. These were "tube" guns - Pearl and Wilson guns. John did a great job rebuilding them and refinishing both. These are Swedish kit builds and both were painted green. The Port Said kits that I've seen looked to be parkerized. I had one of my guns built up as the select-fire variant with the hook end cap. Both guns work perfectly. The select fire gun was done just because there aren't many like that out there. Anyway - I can highly recommend John's work.
Got Uzi
Ive wondered if there were any transferabale, real or tube guns, that were built with the selector lever. To me, you dont need the selector as it shoots so smooth but it is a nice feature. Only issue is the extra parts involved vs how simple the standard K is. tomk
Agree that no selector is really needed. Since I was getting the gun re-done I thought "why not?". I am pleased with the results. It seems that the most common Swedish parts kits are actually the select-fire kits. Most "B" model kits seem to be Port Said guns. I bought my spares and sent all to John who re-finished everything (several spares for each part) to match the gun. He also made the short threaded barrel with shortened barrel shroud so that I could attach suppressors. I just use a 45 Ti-Rant with the fixed spacer and 9mm insert. Works fine. Nice guy, good workmanship. The select fire K is pictured. Edited March 27, 2021 by tomk

C21AC
Could your mount work on a Sten MK2?
Got Uzi
Im sure it could be adapted for use on a STEN MKII. I have one here to look at.
Got Uzi
Here are a couple videos of the gun being shot over the weekend. Mount was rock solid, held zero, and made that gun a night and day difference to shoot.
DINK
I used a spare barrel shroud to mount a red dot on mine. Just drilled and tapped it for a section of picatinny rail. I also put a rail on the bottom in case I need to use a bipod for benchrest shooting, LOL.
C21AC
How does it attach to the receiver? What is it made from? Plastic? If you are making these for sale and could modify to work with Sten MK2 you have a buyer here.
Got Uzi
It attaches with clamping pressure and has an alignment key that goes into the cocking handle slot. Its made from 6061 aluminum. Im going to look at how to make one for a STEN and Im waiting to hear back on tube ODs and slot widths so I know if they are consistent enough to do a run. I do t want to do it if they would each be a one off making them gunsmith fit as Id need the gun shipped in so I could fit each one.
C21AC
Thanks for the info. It would be great if the sights could be improved this way on the Sten. Please keep us posted.

JJX
I am interested in buying one of these mounts if you are selling them.
Got Uzi
Well those that are interested-I need some info on your Ks.....I need the receiver tube outside diameter, the cocking slot width (down to the .001) and what dot youd be thinking of having put on. I need this information to see if there is enough consistency to do this or if each one would have to be built to each gun.
