drw
Went this afternoon and put about 200 rnds thru mine today. Brought a friend who has owned only Thommy guns and he is now shopping for a Sterling. It only took one magazine to convince him! A 50 year old grinnin' like he was 5! He looked a little numb after the 4th or 5th mag and kept mumbling that he's gonna get one of these! The No 5 Jungle Carbine bayonet still eludes me.... If anyone finds a source please post here. kaveman
I've had my Sterling for a few years so I'm not a new owner, but I'm new to the board. Check Navy Arms for a bayonet. They had bayonets that fit the Sterling, but they wern't originals. I believe they were Paki or Indian, but they were new condition and not very expensive,.....about $30 IIRC. PK.
I’ve had mine for more than a year- shot it yesterday; it’s a keeper. Took very little to convince two friends to get on board with guns/ tubes transferring currently. What a great gun!

MuzzleFlash
http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Checkin' In Mine's just started the first transfer to get it here. Then the F4 starts all over again. I figure I'm 4 to 5 months out. Time passes so I accessorize. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Got my IMA kit yesterday. Wish I could say I was impressed. I ordered the kit WITH included mag and an extra mag for an additional $25. What I received was missing a mag, missing the ejector, missing the mag catch assy, missing the butt cap and the barrel screws. Other than that, it was complete http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif I've emailed them, but haven't heard back yet. The trigger assy cleaned up nice. Definitely factory Sterling and not Fazakerly. You can tell from the Axis pins and guide rod. All are stainless! The rest is still soaking in the degreaser (Simply Green) solution until all the crinkle paint comes off. I'm very impressed with the workmanship. These guns are worth the $$! Finished reading "The Guns of Dagenham". Fantastic reference and THE Sterling Bible! I love my RR Uzi and all the caliber kits & suppressor options, but the Sterling will probably be my favorite in short order. Happy 4th to everyone! kyle
QUOTE (MuzzleFlash @ Jul 4 2004, 12:37 AM) Got my IMA kit yesterday. Wish I could say I was impressed. Steve... I pretty much echo your thoughts. I obviously need to take the time to inventory the kit. I thought the barrel and bolt were in excellent condition. That's always the key criteria for me. As with your kit, all of the parts were very dirty. I think the Sterling is going to be a neat gun.

21 smoker
I`ve had mine for a while but really ran it hard this July4 shoot...lots of smiles, ran great with brass cased ammo...stayin` away from steel case ammo...thanks to info from PK...the only problem encountered was when I dropped the tube in the ultrasonic cleaner...the heat and solution was a little rough on the wrinkle finish...had to touch it up a little....but the rest cleaned up beautiful. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
