MP28 Extractor Issue

My MP28 started doing something odd when the bt closes on a round the back end of the extractor pops out and prevents the bolt from retracting. Anyone dealt with a similar issue. It appears the extractor is just too loose but not sure what might be going on.

i didnt think the bolt could move that far toward the chamber so that am edge of the extractor is not covered by the reciever,,,, is it possible the barrel is not screwed in far enough,,like it needs 1 more complete turn,,just thinking

That was my first thought but it looks like it is bottomed out on the inside of fhe receiver. I was only able to get it to go a quarter turn in but not enough to line the extractor cut back up. After looking at some pics you may be right I will go back over and see if that maybe the issue. Its an all matching gun so its not a replacment part and the barrel has not been out of it since I first got it 4 years ago.

was this gun a welded up deactive that someone restored ? you had it 4 years and jyst discover this problem now , is this the original barrel to gun <? ,just wondering

any chance the underside of the front sight i preventing barrel from screwing in further, try with sight removed,, just thinking

Had this type of issue with my MP 18.1. Make sure the bolt face side of the extractor is flush with the bolt face. If not gently file until it is.

You nailed that is what the problem was. I guess one of my dumbass employees must have dropped it because the end of the shroud was buggered up. Took me a couple of hours but I got the threads cleaned up and it works now thanks you very much!
