MC1 , 1952, USMC Sniper Rifle

Recommended Posts

Pictured below is my US MC1 Rifle with a repro USMC MOUNT and commercial Kollmorgen scope.

Can any one inform me as to the maker of the scope mount and rings??

Thanks,

Jim C

Chopper,

Thanks for the nice comment.

From what I have been able to learn on other sites, it appears to be made by someone in France.

The early mounts are stamped with the FSN, later mounts were left blank .Information is slow coming in.

Jim, if memory serves me there was a smaller US based shop that made a small run of USMC mounts and rings 5 year ago or longer. I can not remember the name of the business  however. Maybe try posting your pictures and questions over on the CMP forums?

Edit: The small shop in the USA that made a run of the MC-1 mounts was Tar Heel Ordnance.

28A1,

Yes there was. Can't think of the name but I believe they were in NC.

A company in Italy also made a small run.

I have a problem posting pics on CMP.

The limited info I have came from the Garand Collectors Association, GCA.

Thanks for commenting.

28A1,

Thanks for the offer, it might be worth the effort. Never know when you might learn something new.

My CMP name is the same as here, Jim C 351.

If you succeed in copying and pasting the pics, just add a sentence,---"Can anyone provide any information on the pictured mount."

That should be good enough. My original post was too limiting.

Thanks again,

Jim C
