mark_k
Hello, I am looking to get either the T1B50D or T1B14. I like that the 14 has a 2 shorter barrel but the 50D comes with a drum for 150 more so save basically $100. Im planning on possibly SBRing at a later date. Is the 2 shorter barrel worth not getting the drum? Thank you.
Devious6
First off, welcome to the forum. I think the answer to your question lies in your personal preference on the barrel length and whether you are actually going to SBR it or not. If you are definitely going to SBR then getting the drum seems smart. If you aren't, and prefer the look of the shorter barrel, then go that way. mark_k
With the finned barrel, is the 2 that noticeable? Just incase I dont SBR it.
shadycon
Read up on Kahr/Auto Ord. Thompson's before you buy!
mark_k
Im getting one with a lifetime warranty, and after looking at that, I wont be SBRing it. So guess the question now is how much of a difference does the 2 barrel difference make?
DeaconKC
Go with the shorter barrel, it looks awfully good as is. Then, later, if you do or do not SBR you will still like the looks.
mark_k
Ya, I found a pic of the longer barrel and it just doesnt look near as good. Think Im gonna pull the trigger and order it this week.
deerslayer
Get the gun you want but skip the drum... But the Taiwanese copy that's better.
giantpune
Personally, I don't see much difference in the barrels. Its 16" or 16" with a pinned compensator making it 18". Both are too damn long. If you're ok with a blem model, the T1B14 is running $1000. Thats like $600 less than the model with the longer barrel and the drum. $600 buys you a couple drums and covers your tax stamp to SBR it. UPC is 151550003956. I'd call up AO and make sure its not a mislabel on some website. If that model does in fact come with the detachable stock, I'd vote get it and spend your savings on extra mags and such. giantpune
If you stick that upc in Google, it should pop with 4 or 5 stores selling that gun online. Pretty sure they're all dropshipping it from the same warehouse, so you'll get the exact same item no matter which store you order from. Due to none of the stores actually having the gun in their physical possession to verify, I would call up AO and give them the upc and ask all the details. It's not uncommon for the dropshipping websites to pull in an incorrect description from their catalog provider.

jojeep
If the TB14 is in you Budget,...go for it. Years ago before Auto Ordnance came out with the TB14 I went through the trouble of putting the Green Mountain 14in Barrel and paying someone to weld the Cutts on.Pick up a Horizontal Forgrip to make the TB14 Barrel look alittle shorter Good luck with your Purchase
