Hi. Please delete if not allowed. I'm the seller of the Federal Laboratories Reising Submachine Gun Hard Case currently listed on eBay.

eBay item number: 322460550145. I found this case at a local estate sale. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Thank you. Frank

I'm going to let this one stay, since it's being sold through eBay, and I think some members could potentially be interested. It looks like a decent case. It does not have the Fed Labs sticker, from the photos provided, and it looks like some repairs were made with brass nails on the inside. The outside is pretty rusty. The cleaning instruction sheet is a big plus. I actually have not seen that instruction sheet before.

Frank,

I was planning on placing a bid until I discovered I had to sign up for paypal.

Something I refuse to do.

Yeah since they are part of eBay, they sort of placed a monopoly on payment methods. That way they get to screw the seller three times on your sale (once for ebay selling fee, once for final value on shipping, and once on the paypal fee). If they keep it up and keep raising their fees, soon sellers will find out that you could just box it up and let an auction house sell it for you.

Ron,

Thanks for the comment.

I have bought several items on ebay. 25 I think. As a matter of fact I have a current bid pending.

This time was different. Instead of accepting my bid as usual , it was rejected unless I sign up for pay pal.

This happened before, don't know why. Whenever it happens I just move on.

Hi Ron. When I started on eBay almost 19 years ago the fees were around 4% and when PayPal started it was at no charge. Now it's 9% for eBay and about 3.5% for PayPal. Of course eBay gets commission on the shipping too... but.. I'm still paying about 15% total which is much cheaper than any auction house. I sell at multiple live auctions in the area.. and the rates run from 18% to as high as 30%. The advantage with eBay is you get customers from all over the world, not just your local area. Take care. I have purchased thousands of items on eBay since 1998, which is reflected in my current eBay feedback rating of 2062. I have not used it to sell very much at all. It has become much more expensive for the seller, but it's also quite convenient for a buyer, as a result of the PayPal connection. Pierre Omidyar, eBay's founder, was my classmate in high school, so I feel somewhat of a connection to the company that turned him into a billionaire. We used to hang out together at school in 9th grade, before he moved away to S. Africa when his dad got a new job. He has since returned to Hawaii, and the Kindergarten and 1st grade "neighborhood" at Punahou is now named after him.
