ProMag plastic Thompson mags?
OldFalGuy replied to timkel's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Years ago when we got these Tommy’s they were real reasonable, last time I saw they were $75. I have way more than my share. May put 10 on GB. At 70 I need to cull the herd myself, kids will not know diddly. Mark -

Cipher- I do not know your age but I am 70. Many years ago I had a Colt 21 and a WH 28. I sent the WH to PK, waited 4 years as my understanding is he works on them one at a time. He blueprinted the receiver =replaced the interior with a Colt perfect rail setup. I never have to worry about the WH again-Ever. I understand ya just paid a bunch for it and do not want to send it off. Well good news ya don’t. Replace all parts with GI and hit the range-especially the mag latch. Then send it to PK. Mark -
FYI, Ciener TSMG 22LR conversion kit
OldFalGuy replied to bug's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
I believe I have a complete Merle .22 kit downstairs, I will have to look. One came in a wood box with a clear slide cover, not sure about the other one, never touched it. They work well. If you’re serious about one start looking for Black Dog magazines and drums. I do not recall if I used the drums but mags worked fine. Mark -

I realize you probably just received the TSMG and would like to shoot it more. At least change the mag catch with a GI and see if mags work better. Have some fun then send the weapon to PK. Contact him here FIRST and he will tell you how many years it will be before he can work on it. Then he will work on yours only and send it back. You will be stunned at the difference. Mine is as smooth cocking as my Colt 21. PK makes them slick. Heck borrow a trigger pull scale and see what it takes to cock your and your trigger too. Write that down, when it gets back from PK (I do not personally know anyone else) do it again………. Take a picture of the grin on your face and post it here. I have some Thompson parts here in its parts box (make one) I really doubt I will need after PK’s work but never can tell. Mark -
How To Tell If L-Drum Spring Is Broken
OldFalGuy replied to LDog2012's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Everyone still greasing their drums? I bought the jig and “think” I did all of mine but bet I missed a couple. Mark -
UPDATE: Merle .22 Conversion Kits
OldFalGuy replied to TSMG28's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Many years ago I bought a 22 kit from Merle and got the drums etc from Black Dog. They run well. SO I bought another 22 kit. I really gotta take it to the range and run them, try different ammo. Anyone had problems with the Remington blue/green box in a suppressed automatic? I tried to run in my Norrel 10/22- terrible results. CCI runs all day. Mark -
Ceiner 22 kit on gunbroker
OldFalGuy replied to Roland the Thompsongunner's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Dan, I have one that Merle made and tuned it up so I did not have to remove the ejector to install, runs like a stripped Apex. THe Ceiner ones will work but the aluminum bolt body will wear on the bottom- Some genius (like Merle bless his heart) should figure how to install a flush peice of steel in that area. Otherwise the Ceiner is fine. By the way the wood you made for my PK modified WH still looks perfect. Mark -
Model of 1928N For Sale
OldFalGuy replied to Taliaferro's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Greetings, I think the group made it sorta clear that if you posted a complete set of pictures they could pass them around and perhaps you might get a good offer. I am thinking around 22K but with only one picture I could be high. Mark -
UPDATE 3: Merle .22LR Conversion Kits
OldFalGuy replied to TSMG28's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Sir, Should to-o need anything on the original units to copy let me know. Merle made me a barrel insert so that I did not have to remove my ejectors a decade ago. Mine runs fine and I have several BlackDog drums etc. Let me know if I can help you and the group out. Mark Maund -

Guys, I think I still have his contact info somewhere after a OOPs while deleting some files. I have a police FBI case the shorter one- I admit am confused a bit as I would like the flat briefcase looking case which I do not know which is which. I have heard of FBI, Police and Indiana cases. I recall at KCR he had one just wood not covered with leather/vinyl. I would like a wood case. I will ask him next. Mark

Fox Thompson Cases - Update
OldFalGuy replied to 1921A's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Greg, I would like to get an Indiana case. I like the way they carry more stick magazines than the other cases I have ( I have 2 and only one TSMG now) We met once at KCR and you had a case that looked like a briefcase so it might have been an Indiana and it was all wood. Still have a website? How order? Since they are reproductions I am really not that concerned about the look of the latches etc so long as they are strong. Yours, Mark Maund -
How well does the Thompson 1928 Supress?
OldFalGuy replied to Countryboy77's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
I had to rationalize the money I spent on a .45 suppressor I use on a 10mm pistol and got a .45 adapter made for the TSMG. I would never attempt to suppress one VIA SD style with drilling holes in a TSMG barrel- Maybe if I could have a QD barrel change but Paul at Diamond K told me I did not have enough receiver meat to do so to make me a QD 9mm barrel. SO I will give it a try but gotta tell ya the suppressor did a helluva job on a G40 6” 10mm. 10mm is a nasty loud firearm like a naked 357 magnum revolver. Mark
