  1. He probably saw the Colts listed in that range and figured what the heck.
  2. I have a 1983 model and it runs great with all of the original Westie parts. My guess is that yours might have some burrs that are causing a feed issue when the bolt comes foward. BTW does your serial number have the TF prefix?
  3. Yes I did mine earlier this year and it works great! I also modified the mag catch so I can use my MG mags.
  4. You can sell some parts, just nothing that actually fires the round, or barrels, etc.
  5. I might depend on when it was cut. Back in the day they could bandsaw cut receivers but at some point the ATF said torch cut and remove 1/4" so you can't duct tape it back together.
  6. I will pick up a pomo tommorrow for two extractors. Thanks!
  7. Here is one for $1200 looks good too! http://forum.pafoa.org/nfa-firearms-7/1080...1-500-00-a.html
  8. Here is a pic of my slide assembly. The top view is the same as the one you posted. Yes it has a number etched into the bottom, 66, plus the same number is etched into the wood in the same handwriting style. I replaced my stock set last year with a set from Deerslayer and although I knew that I had an aluminum slide, I never would have noticed any of this until Deerslayer mentioned it to me. BTW I used the metal from a parts kit so I know that my Westie has original metal. My original stock set is for sale if someone is interested in it. http://i51.tinypic.com/1i08k7.jpg
  9. I will take a picture of mine when I dig it out of the safe, plus I will see if there are any markings on my MGC aluminum slide.
  10. I found out about a year ago that my Westie, a 1983 model, has the aluminum slide and I was told that it was probably a MGC stock on my Tommy. It's possible that somewhere along the line someone might have damaged the "original" stock and put on a MGC unit, but since all three pieces of wood match I don't think that's the case. It's possible that AO bought stocks and or sets from MGC to make production easier.
  11. There was a guy on sturm that was selling new 20rd mags for $20 each, $5 shipping on four. I picked up four and they were brand new, Auto Ord marked.
  12. About three years ago I bought one of the Auto Ord repo FBI cases for my Westie from a local gun shop and so far it has held up great. I think I paid about $150 and he actually had two in stock. The other one he took home for his Westie.
  13. Hey just because they claim that "Quality is never compromised in a Thompson" has nothing to do with installing the rear sight backwards, it's still a quality sight!
  14. It is a completely legal sale in Spain, EU countries have different standards for deactivated firearms. So what are you trying to prove with these repeated posts of sales you believe are questionable? Some countries consider the barrel the registered part .
  15. I thought about buying the pistol and doing the SBR thing, but I was not too inpressed with the aluminum receiver. I did buy a M1 and SBR'd that unit.
  16. The new ones look like they milled the rails off the lower so you can't slide on the stock.
  17. Is the address still the same for the rivets? Thanks!
  18. Next time on Kahr...why you need 75 lbs of leverage to open your bolt! Now I have to check the ejector in my gun!
  19. Yeah a bunch of them have come in from Korea...again. The last time they were brought in by Blue Sky and from whay I hear these will be as bad for the most part.
  20. OldFalGuy, maybe he got wind we were bad-mouthing him and shut it down. His web site would show him a report of activity and clicks on items by searchers. His activity report probably went from zero to 100 per day, and sometimes it can cost up to $.50 per visitor and $.10 per click. Don't worry - I suspect he'll have the gun for a while, maybe the price will 10 times again if Bomma gets this country straightened out. (Just joking.) Bill He was briefly bashed on subguns NFA board and the thread was removed. He also took a rash of chit on the uzitalk board and the thread is still there.
  21. That bolt is for a .22lr conversion, plus the 22lr magazine is in the pic.
  22. I bought a Kahr M1 Tommy a year ago for a SBR project. The fit and finish were nice and the wood was excellent. The first time at the range it jammed up on the first round fired. The extractor came foward out of the bolt and locked the gun up. I brought the gun home, un-jammed the extractor, and did a complete cleaning and oiling. The second time to the range I fired about 300 rounds, mostly reloads and it ran 100%. I received my approved Form 1 in late August and then in September I did the chop job...and it looks a lot better with the short tube! http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/ind...amp;#entry94167
  23. Yes, very sad indeed. Tony and Jan were very nice to talk to and he was helpful when picking out parts and acc for the tommy gun. I was looking foward to seeing them again at the SAR East show.
  24. I just SBRed my Kahr M1 last fall and even with the correct tools (homemade) to remove the barrel it was quite tight; probably around 50 ft/lbs or torque to remove.
