  1. On the 30-06 pouch, many countries gifted the Garand during WW2 and thereafter often had several different caliber rifles. So different calibers were clearly marked to avoid the mis-issuing of ammo. Also, many countries in the Commonwealth received US 1917 Enfield rifles that were made in .30-06, the rifles were marked with a red band to void confusion, see if the mag pouch will hold the stripper clips used for those.
  2. I'm glad I read you guys' reviews, I had skipped this show. Watched it today and enjoyed it. I am especially surprised at what a good effort came from Harrelson. Thanks guys!
  3. Who makes the extended bolt handle you are speaking about?
  4. Thanks! I'm going to use it for Zoot Shooting with stick mags. The drum will become a very cool demo piece, maybe trade it for a couple of 50s!
  5. Well, I got it, still trying to find a photo hosting service since getting jerked by Photobucket. Any suggestions? The beast is a beauty, good trigger pull, and am amazed by the third hand you need for the drum mag! I can see that when I'm Zoot Shooting I will be using the stick mags!
  6. Well, I had to sell off a Mauser Broomhandle to afford it, but tomorrow I pick up a new AO 1927! I've always loved the look of these and now will finally have one. As i already have the M1 version I am in good shape on stick mags. Can't wait to get pics of "Da Boys" together. https://shopkahrfirearmsgroup.com/firearms/thompson-t1100d.asp
  7. First off Dan, congrats and very well done Sir for such an innovative solution! Second, best wishes to all of our friends in CA who are trapped in such an onerous State {and I thought living in Illinois is rotten}.
  8. Well, I finally found a 1927 Thompson and am trading for it. It has a 100 round drum with it and I have never played around with one of these before. Obviously larger and heavier, what are the advantages/disadvantages of one over the other. My current M1 only takes stick mags, so it is a learning curve for me. I do plan on using them in Zoot Shooting events. Thanks
  9. Just found this out. A wierdly worded law in Illinois will now allow those who hold a C&R license to get a SBR permit. The Illinois State Police confirmed this, so now I am debating on spending the $200 to make my Tommy into a SBR.

  11. Yup, I just sat down while watching a movie. My wife gave me "the look" but she is used to me by now......
  12. When I bought mine, I had heard the horror stories too. S I took it home, took the springs out, slathered on some lapping compound and ran the bolt back and forth several hundred times. Cleaned thoroughly, re-assembled and it has run perfectly with several hundred rounds through it so far with out malfunction.
  13. My always gun is a Kel Tec PF9, flat and light, it disappears in a Desantis Nemesis holster in your pocket. If I feel like it, just for spite i will stuff a 1911 into an old Bianchi IWB.
  14. OCM, I always enjoy the stuff you come up with and present so well. Thank you!
