  1. I think you hit the nail on the head! Seller really doesn't want to sell it so tells wife he knows what he has and Jack's up the price so it doesn't sell.Show the wife it's listed and blame bad economy for not selling
  2. No M1. And while reconbobs werent in an actual war probly a better part.
  3. I offered $150 for it. They replied No that the bolt is a real WWII bolt used in a Real War!! Lmao!!!!!!!!!!!Seriously, thats the answer you received? Unbelievable. The seller must be delusional. I guess they dont realize several hundred thousand were used in a real war that exist.
  4. Yep go for it! Certainly looks like quality barrel.
  5. Time to grab some popcorn, and watch the fireworks begin. Here I will get it started. Whats the provenance? It doesnt look like it was ever installed,is it actual Colt Manufactured or a Repair barrel made for a Colt not by Colt. Im sure people want the story on it.
  6. How did it give out? Screw threads or dod it just break? Seems like a pretty sturdy piece of steel
  7. Its hard to nelieve one of tgese coukd give out.Was it with tge barrel support and stop milled in or tge M1A1 style with the rivet?
  8. How did you know he was a felon? Was he still wearing his stripes;) . If they did their time they paid their debt and if they are still a danger they shouldnt be out.
  9. It wasnt colt era he had it was one of those brass ones paint removed and chromed or nickeled.Had got photos of the cap and markings ect.
  10. Last RR I seen sell was at $25,000
  11. Yea,how many rounds have you put through them?Play the lotto. If you got 2 Kahr 2927s and they both work your 1 lucky guy
  12. Not even if it was the gun General Patton lugged around in his jeep!
  13. I bet somone tried to modify the blish lock to compensate for the famous " west hurley wrong angle/ incorrect blish slots" that they got wrong so many times.Add photos of upper reciver underside whare blish lock cuts are.If you have a micrometer measure both sides from the bottom to where the blish ears ride. Also get a new buffer from pk that red fiber disk aint good no more.Do you have an oiler in it?
  14. Have you actually fired it yet? You might not have an issue. And if your riding the bolt closed hand cycling thats your problem. They dont like that. Also maybe a bad barrel. Is it a real original Thompson barrel or an aftermarket? There were some outof spec barrels being sold(a lot).Check for markings on the barrel last ring that meets the receiver
  15. Im guessing you didnt do this to an expensive collectable.Ypu know you could have pulled the floating pin and spring and put a push pin in tgat could easily be removed any time the stock is removed. No need to drill
  16. I seen 1 quick change system where the handguard mount slid out with a spring loaded catch that hooks the back of the barrel and when pressed up towards the chamber the other end moved out of the way and could be slid out.The barrel was only hand tight and the lock on the grip bar kept the barrel from rotating.I havent seen another i would love to find a grip bar barrel combo for the setup but havent seen them offered anywhere. If somone has one they should loan it to Reconbob or somone who can replicate it.
  17. Actually a spot weld will suffice. Like when yoy see thread protectirs tack welded to AKs.Just has to show cannot freely spin off.And I heard solder was not acceptable.
