Can we Modify a 1928 Navy Overstamp Actuator
loosecanon replied to OCM's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Sandy, if you don't want to wait for PK to schedule another run of actuator conversions I believe Doug Richardson still has some of his newly made '21 actuators. They are pricey but ready now and may not be that much more than the cost of a '28A1 part plus cost of conversion. -
Cutts comps look to be bored out and do those mags look overly long even for 30 rounders or is it just my old evenalls?

'28 Barrel Removal

with proper tools a good gunsmith should be able to pull a barrell without damaging any parts. check out Doug Richardsons site. might even be able to do it yourself with his wrench and holding fixture. -
Gun Show Find: 45 Colt UMC Acp
loosecanon replied to ineverlistentoFM's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
auto rim was made to fire in revolvers chambered for 45acp without using the half moon clips it has a very thick rim. DO NOT load this into any type of semi or auto firearm you may well lodge a round in the chamber, cause damage to your extractor or have an out of battery detonation. That is if you can hammer it into a magazine, the stuff shouldn't fit into the mag. -
Synthetic Motor Oil In A Thompson?
loosecanon replied to The1930sRust's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
just curious. How often do you change the oil filter on a thompson and where is it located? -
the "press" has used and twisted the freedom guaranteed in the Bill of Rights to the point that they can get away with just about any outrage with almost total impunity. Trying to sue almost any so called news organization is a steep up hill battle. Thats one reason they have no problem hiding behing the first amendment while trying to destroy the second.

was firing a semi 1928 converted to full auto at a rental range many years ago. a case that had been reloaded one too many times seperated and left the front part in the chamber. Next round chambered half way and fired, blew out bottom of case, destroyed the mag and scared hell out of me and shop guy standing next to me. Had smoke cumming out of holes in sides of mag and pretty much everywhere else. After driving cast slugs down the tube to remove stuck case fragment gun was unhurt and good to go. -
Guns Of The Dillinger Era
loosecanon replied to wwl's topic in Gangsters, Outlaws & Lawmen of the Early 20th Century Forum
Deacon: Is that picture of Joe Friday from the episode where he killed a quy in a shootout amd the other quys bullet had raised a plank in a shelf and was hiding behind the board and they mistook the lead streak for a pencil mark and they almost never found it? (excuse the run on sentence) I think Friday had gone into the laundromat to buy a pack of cigs. if memory serves after all these years. -

Dillinger & Co.
loosecanon replied to OCM's topic in Gangsters, Outlaws & Lawmen of the Early 20th Century Forum
You do, actually. It is under our care with the FBI in our capitol. Rob, as you probably know, the lost Dillinger Colt pocket pistol was found recently. It was mounted in the FBI display case with other Dillinger artifacts, however in recent years some Colt gun noticed the numbers and traced the gun on display to Volney Davis in 1935. ( remember I'm on memory a lot these days but I'm damn close ) So what happened to the real Dillinger gun? Nobody knew, gone, stolen from the FBI ??? Mystery. What happened, when the FBI took down the display to redo it or whatever, they they stored all the Dillinger stuff, gun still missing. Dr. John Fox, FBI historian, was in the closet where the Dillinger artifacts were stored with other things and here was the original gun, had probably been misplaced in another display or something. You can go to Larry Wacks site and read the story. How they mounted these guns, they drilled holes right through them to bolt to the wall. In one of my postings on the guns, is the original, you can see the mounting holes- Yes, I believe the same to the historic Thompsons !! If I remember correctly the Dillenger pistol also has a large hole that looks like it was torched. This is the way the FBI treats our national historical treasures. Can't be too careful with those dangerous guns you know, a civilian might get to touch it some day. -
