Dolf Goldsmith

Recommended Posts

I have just had an email from Dolf Goldsmith who is in hospital after having hip surgery. He had a bad fall at his home after returning from the SAR show and will be out of action for another three weeks at least. He does have limited email access for those of you who may wish to send him a message.

I saw him at the Creek, but with his loss of hearing and the constant firing it was difficult to carry a conversation.I wish him a speedy recovery...Get well soon Dolf.

  • 2 weeks later...

I imagine some of us got the same email-

Its my understanding he was in a hospital in Las Vegas vs home in San Antonio.

I hope this is way off base. I could drop by and visit in SA when he gets stronger-

My 86 yr old father in law fell busted his hip and rehab'ed with wife and I for several weeks and is up and around/driving now after 8 weeks and 94 yr old uncle fell yesterday and broke his too

Operation is easy, rehab is so tough, hard to watch

I think when we get older maybe we should wear football pants with pads in them.

Here's what I received via e-mail yesterday:

In the event that you do not already know...I am passing this on.

Our friend Dolf is not well.

He had a fall down the stairs and broke his hip.

He has had hip replacement surgery... he is now suffering serious

INFECTION complications after the surgery.

His mood is swinging between depression and MILD optimism.

As of 28 December he will be in:

Advanced Health Care Center of Las Vegas

5840 West Sunset Road

Las Vegas, Nevada

I have talked with him several times recently (twice today) and know

that he would be cheered up ...and could use it ...by receiving cards

or phone calls.

As he is moving to the Advanced care facility tomorrow I cannot, yet,

tell you his room number...but you can work that all out...

Spoke with Dolf yesterday. He is doing OK and is in the hospital in Las Vegas, where his phone number is: 702-940-8825, Rm 112, however, Dolf said that that phone rings too softly for him to hear it, so anyone calling should use his cell phone: 702-306-0267.
