m3bobby
I've come across 2 varients on the wrapped STEN, the first has the repositioning/reinforcing disc around the change lever and the second is reinforced like yours around the head and doesn't have the disc around the change lever. http://i921.photobucket.com/albums/ad51/m3bobby/033_zps02a7f558.jpg

ron_brock
I believe this refers to the tube and trigger housing being made of one piece (wrapped) as opposed to a tube and side pieces welded together. I am sure others with more Sten knowledge will pipe in. - Ron
m3bobby
That about covers it, the wrapped bodies are formed around a mandrel from one piece of sheet steel. A normal body is a formed tube and then the trigger housing is assembled from 2 pieces of sheet and this is welded to the tube by the tabs. The wrapped bodies were week and prone to distortion/ware and were supposed to have been recalled and scrapped.

APEXgunparts
I have found a wrapped STEN MKII in with the other demilled MARK II STEN's that we just received.Years ago I had one in another shipment of demilled MARK II's. I was surprised to find them as I would have thought they were removed from service long ago. They sure look different inside! Richard

m3bobby
That's a nice one, never upgraded to Mk5 safety cocking handle so hasn't seen much service.
MG08
I have a "wrapped" MK II here. Same early loop stock.
bplvr
I have a 'wrapped" STEN .It looks like a flat that was formed around a 1.375 solid piece of round stock. It was in a box of 20 STEN kits a bought a while back. I build STEN S/A's in Ca. for myself ,a lot of fun, and a real challenge. I am currently building a STEN Bull Pup from a MK5 British donor kit. I got it from APEX last week and the kit is REALLY nice. I think I'll score another one while they are in stock.
