  1. Wouldn't look right on my motorcycle, it's WW 2 German. Someday I'll get around to mounting my MG 42 on it - I have all the parts. Sarge
  2. I wonder what that will bring? I've got an original one to sell. Sarge
  3. You interested in mag pouches? I think I have 2 in Exc cond. Sarge
  4. Hello Jay Nice to see you are still kicking around. When did you move over by "lost in the woods"? Dean
  5. Several years ago there were a couple of companies (Tapco for one) that advertised the 12 ga inserts for the 26.5mm flare guns. These were intended to be used with 12 ga flares that they also sold. Haven't seen any of those adds in a long time. I very much doubt that those would have been safe to use live ammo as most of the flare gns were alminum or zink/pot metal and would not have withstood the firing of a live round. I would think that a conversion for shotgun shells would be legal, but ??? There were also tubes made for the Pengun flare launchers in 22 cal, but I have heard that they were frowned on by the feds??? Sarge
  6. I can't remember ever being ask for my papers, but I have volunteered them on several occasions. In all instances I then had to explaint what they were. I used to teach weapons classes to the local PD and Sheriffs dept. One thing I made a point to do was show and explain all the different forms pertaining to class 3 stuff. 90+% of all law enforcement officers do not have a clue about Class 3 weapons. This even in states where they are legal! The normal response was that "them things ain't legal!" And the general publik is not a bit smarter. I've had people at gun shows look at my MG u. suppressor displays and tell me that MGs were not legal. Sarge
  7. I have both the flash hidder and the muzzle break (check, recoil, M1). In fact I have both in the original boxes in addition to both that have been used. I think I can detect a bit of improvement in muzzle climb with the muzzle break, but maby it's just me? Sarge
  8. Both of my BARS are parkerized Korean war built. One of my thompsons is blued. No such occurance with any of them. My thought is Pure BS! As to the above comment on G 43 rifles - I have owned and shot G u. K 43 rifles since 1958, currently own 15 of them. If I ever saw the referenced movie I don't remember it. I have Never heard any such BS from any source nor have I ever experienced any such thing! Sarge
  9. I'm curious - if that is worth $600 what would mine be worth? It is all original and complete like yours AND it has the hand guard with it. I've had this laying around for 40 yrs and never thought about it. Sarge
  10. I never did get a reply to my offer of 3 Apr. I will be in San Antonio from 25-30 Jun. Waco is more or less on my way home. I can bring whatever he is interested in down with me. What I have is: FN/FAL, M 14, BAR, Bren Gun, Thompson, Sten, MP 40, Madsen & MAC 10/suppressor. Sarge
  11. He would not have had capturd papers because NO full auto weapons were ever allowed to be legaly brought home from Viet Nam. I kept hoping that would change before I left and had accumulated several - Thompson, Swedish K, AK 47 & an RPD - but no such luck. Does your friend have any mag pouches for his MAT 49? Sarge
  12. I've got an MP 38, it's a 1940. I'd like to find both a 38 u, 39, but probably couldn't afford them if I did. I've also got 4 MP 40s - 40, 41, 42 u. 43. Still looking for an 1944 u. 45 and I'd like to find a 660 40 to replace my 122 40 since the other 3 are bnzs. Ohh well, MABY some day! Here is the herd along with my 4 shooters. Sarge
  13. The problem with buying an original gun is two fold - first you have to find one - they are rare as hens teeth! Second an original will bring at least double what a "tube" gun will bring. I failed to buy an original many years ago, even tho they were not expensive, because I wasn't intereted in brit stuff. Then I got intereted in Brit and now have 3 tube guns. I would not pay what an original gun sells for, don't want one that bad! Besides I wouldn't shoot it anyway since I have the "tube" guns to shoot. Sarge
  14. "MP40s originally required hand fitting during the assembly process" I'd like to know what your references are for this. I've been collecting German for 60 yrs and I can't remember ever seeing that in print. An MP 40 needs about the same amount of hand fitting as a K98k Mauser or a Garand - ZIP! I have several "tube" guns, a couple are matching parts kits with the rec made and numbered to match. I have a couple that are a mix/match of parts assembled on a new tube. I have the same results with all of them - they function flawlessly! I have tubes made by at least 3 different makers and erb isn't one of them. I've heard some bad things about his and another maker or 2, but have no personal experience with any of them. It would seem to me that there is not much that can be wrong with a tube unless it isn't cut right, but if junky parts are assembled to it then you could have a problem. IF you had some terribly worn parts maby you would have a problem, but if the parts are in good shape there should be no problem. I would never shoot any of my original, matching MP 40s - that is what I have tube guns for! Sarge
  15. What does he want to shoot & when? I've got about everything except belt feds. Waco is about 800 mi from me. email me - Kabloey@hotmail.com Sarge
  16. That sure does not look like a maroon korps jacket and stripes. The stripes look like WW 2 Army. No idea what that swastika patch is, BUT it is nothing like the 45.ID patch which was a red square with a gold swastika and was worn standing on one corner, Not flat. Sarge
  17. finkelstein is eine Arshloch! If you think the recieving end of an MG 34 would be eerie, try an MG 42 - so I've been told. I was always on the back side. At 1200 rpm a 42 "really" screams! Craig - Ich bin auch eine Fallschirmjäger reenactor. Meine waffen ist eine MP 43. Meine MG 42 is für meine soldaten. Sarge
  18. I'd also like to find a K. I carried one when I was flying in Viet Nam, really liked it. Sarge
  19. Hey, you old - sorta - reprobate! You ever going to quit reenacting? I'm still at it and have no intention of quitting. When did you move over by Ft Lost in the woods? Have never seen one of the MP 40 semi pistols out this way. Dean
  20. Yeah and then there is their requirements for storage and transportation of said machine gun! The idiots in Komifornya do their best to prevent an individual from owning any FA weapon. The requirements are in a book about 3/4" thick. At least that is what they sent me when I enquired several years ago. Sarge
  21. Wierd casuse nearly the exact same question is on at least 2 other boards at about the same time. Sarge
  22. I can't get your link to open - Is it about the New Life Church in Colorado Springs? That was about 20 mi from me. If so, the gal was a former police officer working part time at her church as a security guard. She had the balls of a Big gorilla - when the guy came inside after killing 2 sisters and I think wouinding another person in the parking lot, she challenged him and he shot at her. Instead of taking cover and shooting back she charged him down the middle of a wide hallway shooting. Wounded him bad and when he realized he couldn't get away, or kill anyone else, he shot himself. She had hit him 2 or 3 time if I remember right. Sarge
  23. How many boards have you put this on? I have an MP 40, MP 43 and MG 42 that were operable war trophies. The 42 was mailed home in 1944. I don't know whether the 40 was sent or carried home and the 43 was carried home. The 40 & 42 came home as registered war trophies, not sure about the 43 - but it was registered in 68, possibly because he didn't understand it was already legal. Couldn't ask more about the 43 because I bought it from the widow. Sarge
