Colt 20rd Mag ID help needed.

Are these Maguire Era Error Patent Date mags?

Just want to be rock solid on my identification before I start selling them.

I've got about 100 or so marked identical to these - and another 27 with "double date" - also believed to be Maguire.

The third pict is what I have 27 of. (double date)

Thanks.

They look like regular Colt era patent date mags to me. Maguire did not come on the scene until close to WWII if I am not mistaken. He would have had nothing to do with these mags as they were way before his time.

I added a third pict of the "double date" mags as well.

I assumed these were all Maguire mags?

So - 1 vote Colt and 1 vote Maguire?

Looks like you're both right. Thanks to Larry - I pulled some floor plates and found some of the non-double date marked MCSO on the spine - and some were not marked MCSO. Looks like more sorting is due for me.

All of the double date I looked at were marked MCSO on the spine. I'll get around to checking them all at some point.

whiskey,

XX mags.

blank- not marked,--first style Colt mag,--made by Johns Machine

24/24 dates, second style Colt mag.-------made by Johns Machine

24/24 dates, Third style, Maguire era, made by Mitchel Stamping and stamped MSCO on inside bottom.

20/24 dates, fourth style, Maguire era, made by Mitchel Stamping and stamped MSCO on inside bottom.

Would you mind telling us how and where you came upon such a large quantity of vintage XX mags .

If I tell ya Jim - I'd have to.....you know. (smile)

What about 20/24 w/o MSCO? I have some of those too.

The 20/24 without MSCO is very cool. I love it when stuff like this surfaces.

Now I need to pull a couple of mine apart to check :)

This is a great find of Maguire era mags, many likely saw early combat use. The British got many of these. I have a couple that have been soldered.

Very cool.
