  1. Thanks for the update Roger. I’m sure this has been a daunting project.
  2. Military Thompson barrels were all blue from the factories. Receivers and frames had the black oxide finish. Parkerizing was done at rebuild. For an original look, find someone who can black oxide your receiver and frame and install the blue barrel.
  3. Promag products are very hit and miss. They do not have a good reputation in the AR-15 community. Drums are known to be very finicky, and don’t last long. I guess for the price it may be worth trying. But I wouldn’t buy one.
  4. Looking for AM 180 drum magazine adapter for M16.
  5. So very sorry. Condolences to Mike’s family. Mike was very eager to share his knowledge of Thompsons and answer any questions. Another great loss to the community.
  6. I would think there should be no drag on a bolt at all from lower internals. Try coating the bolt with Dykem and run it with the Savage lower and see if there are wear marks.
  7. Welcome to the club. Looking forward to seeing it in person.
  8. Jut take the receiver to someone who can torch cut it. Then let it sell.
  9. Wow. Excellent find John. My wife has been to the museum. She said it’s very fascinating. Mooney Warther was quite a craftsman.
  10. The only thing you could say good about that gun, is that it's on the registry. I wonder how it functions. That receiver is definitely out of square. Looks like it has a twist also. Would need some serious work to get it right. Everything about it is bad. The buffing, pitting, comp. Wow. The list just goes on. Thats quite the interesting safety lever. Amazing what you can do with a file. Look at the hole in the right side of the frame for the mag catch. I think $15k would be Too much. But someone uninformed will buy it.
  11. It is definitely correct in my opinion. The grain looks just like my Savage 1928 grip and the spare Savage grip I have.
  12. Great photos. I know all attending are having a great time. It truly saddens me that I was not able to be there this year. The wealth of knowledge at the Hill family Show and shoots is unmatched. I would definitely have been going home with less money. Vince
  13. Looks like PK has worked on that gun. Might be an issue that couldn’t be resolved. Just have to see how it runs with the replaced ejector.
  14. Yes, held annually. Granville Ohio. PM Tracie. You never know. Very well worth attending. I am very disappointed I will not be able to attend this year.
  15. New York address. British bought gun. Looks like broad arrow on right receiver nose. Barrel changed. Frame is off different but still early Savage gun. Nice early levers. 938559225
  16. My matching Savage Model 1928 is a very tight fit. It has to have a real hard wack to get the frame started to remove it.
