Wwii Action Cover

Recommended Posts

Are you referring to the canvas breech cover? These were originally a Colt Thompson accessory. The Brits discovered them when they purchased Colts in 1940. After that, they produced them in GB for the model 21s and 28s used in North Africa. I doubt it was a good idea, the canvas fit tight and tended to trap sand in the action.

What are they worth? Not sure, but the commercial Mills is pretty rare - Few Colt collectors have an original commercial breech cover. IMA had the British ones about a year ago for around $20. They may still have some. The military version is a carbon copy of the commercial cover except for the markings.
