clintonlover
After all the talk of sportmans guide drums and the like, I would like to know which manufacture is the most sought after. Bridgeport, Crosby, or Seymour? I realize they are all sought after, but would like to know which had the lowest production numbers if known. Thanks in advance, Danny
Mike Hammer
Clintonlover, that name...you've got to be kidding? You need to change that moniker of yours unless you want to be insulted here. Frank's book "American Thunder" has some excellent data on Thompson Drums. Doug Richardson has some catalogs on Thompson Drums as well. Colt production drums are perhaps the most highly valued and sought after. While not the best quality, Fisher Drums are mainly valued for their scarceness. Bridgeport drums are very desirable WWII drums, well built and they function great, I have a half dozen and they all work flawlessly. Seymour drums are also very good. The Crosby drums are considered by most to be the least desirable of the WWII drums. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Mike Hammer

Mario Scarpino
That's easy clintonlover and you should not even have to ask. The most desired drum of all time is the highly limited production, non-functioning, AWB generation (Bill Clinton Special) X DRUM!!!! Seriously guys, be careful what you say and to whom. In the next round for the AWB, the most desirable drums will be at the top of Hitlery's, or DiFi or chuckies list. Why give the anti-gunners any info at all??????? I know Frank was selling blem copies of hie book a few months back, need to see if he has any left.

Like many of you I realize the importance of books and reference material, and I would like to thank Frank and Nick for a great forum, there is no other forum on the net that contains this much knowledge and insight in regards to the TSMG and it's ancillaries. Thanks again, Mario Scarpino's comments are like that of the ignorant, in his 39 posts he has never asked an important question, or given a knowledgeable answer as mike hammer has done foe me. Z3BigDaddy
How come they all seem to have the rust at the bottom? I have several that look like that. Do they get dropped and the protective finish is gone? Or so they sit on edge causing it? Anyhow looks like an alright drum to me in average used condition..... Needs to be cleaned and oiled fer sure....

giantpanda4
Nice job. $421 or so for a Bridegport is not a bad price. Why didn't you take the other one, too? $349 and a bit of rust removal was all it took!
