steeltoe1978
Is there a better buffer on the market than the one that came with the WH 1928s or the ones that I have received in numerous parts kits? If so, where can I get one. What do you use in your gun? Thanks!

adlake
I just got from Stan Andrewski Gunsmithing, a reproduction red buffer it looks and feels kinda feels like a real one but its made out of plastic buffer-crap. Nice for the orginal look. $4.00 each I think.-adlake

Balder
When I in 1991 picked up my Savage M1928, I noticed the buffer was made from an old Norwegian rubber shoe sole. Obviously a Norwegian Navy improvisation, it even had the "Viking" brand-name all over it. It's still there as part of the gun's history. TD.
A very interesting piece of history. Sort of a "parts is parts" story. Thanks for sharing.
full auto 45
QUOTE (Balder @ Feb 20 2007, 06:25 PM) When I in 1991 picked up my Savage M1928, I noticed the buffer was made from an old Norwegian rubber shoe sole. Now that is a gun with true sole! Anyone else need a buffer? I have 5 left out of this shipment. $5 each. And I pay the USPS shipping. Now you can't beat that. p.s. I still have calendars left!
