  1. A BIG AMEN Here! I just got back but this was a much better deal when you had 2 shows to attend and had come a great ways as I and a LOT of others did. Jim
  2. I'll be at the SOS as well. It's IMO a shame they moved these shows to two separate weekends. Jim
  3. I have been told that there are some Thompson in the S. Korea horde. You might want to try Don Bell Omega Weapons Systems for buttstock hardware as he had these at one time. Jim
  4. I agree with the above having put in time as an RSO supervising people firing in full auto. A LOT of them would be a danger to everyone including themselves if allowed to do so unsupervised. As is done elsewhere from what I'm told(New Zealand?) it would probably be prudent to qualify and license the user for full auto rather then the firearms themselves. Jim
  5. Thank God we probably now have a President coming into office who will make sure this doesn't happen here. I'm not going to post a link but one of Clinton's assistants was videotaped during the campaign stating in No uncertain terms that Clinton's ultimate goal was confiscation of all privately owned firearms. Jim
  6. Bob: I do have a couple of questions. Will these blanks be reloadable? Any plans for a 28 model? Jim
  7. Well 11Bravo: Even if you had shipped the Thompson receiver back it's likely you'd have missed the Amnesty which was held in 1968. I suspect that are many situations where vets shipped back items like this and they have been unable to register them due to the fact that no additional amnesties as proscribed by law have ever been held. Perhaps with a change in administration next year this situation will change as well. Jim
  8. And I am still patiently waiting for a LOGICAL reason for defacing a SBR receiver with redundant information? Jim
  9. Check with Don Bell. Omega Weapons Systems in Tucson AZ as last I knew he had these in stock. Jim
  10. With all due respect; I didn't ask how it was done but the rational as to why it's required to be done? ALL the information needed to identify the firearm is already there on the gun and in the BATF records when application is made and permission given to convert it to a SBR. This sure strikes me as another example of inane government bureaucracy at work to me. Jim
  11. Would someone please explain the rational, if any, if forcing the owner into defacing his gun by engraving this information on to the receiver? The gun is already registered to the individual owning the conversion by the original serial number. that is already engraved on the receiver. This seems like bureaucratic nonsense to me. Jim
  12. Thanks for all the help. Upon further review with a bore light it appears that the barrel is rifled albeit lightly. The bore light has to be held at just the right angle to see it. I had read else where that this pistols were capable of firing 38 Rim fire ball ammunition so that makes sense. In any case I'm going to drop this right here. Jim
  13. It's NOT a machine gun and I did double check and it falls into the AOW, the same as any sawed off shotgun, category which is a $5.00 registration. If I'm wrong regarding this please tell me why! Jim
  14. I have just spent time on the BATF site trying to find the proper form to get this registered as Any Other Weapon without any success. Since I believe the cost to do so is only $5.00 I'll do it. Can anyone direct me to the correct form? Jim
