The UD mags are identical in fit & function to the 45 mags, they hold 25 rds of 9mm. They are marked in same loc. as 45s, United Defense Supply Corp, New Haven Connecticut,SPC. They function great in a Thompson w/a 9mm barrel. A few yrs. ago I picked up a 9mm barrel, bolt & the UD mags from long time,been there, done that Frank Galati. Put it together & it ran circles around the 45. No muzzle climb to even notice. You could cut the head off a target without even trying. All good things can't last forever, After being completely wiped out by hurricane Katrina, the best stuff that i had saved on high ground were stolen from my temporary home by some dopeheads who broke in. I found out who it was & the local gestapo would not even bother. They had bigger fish to fry like bleeding FEMA for all they could get. If I come across as sounding a bit bitter about it it is because I AM. I will never forget how shi**y I was treated by LEO . Like OH is that your biggest problem, we don't have have time for things like that. Hide your goodies well, O'bummi's democraps will have the troops out looking B4 you know it.

The s/n sounds bogus to me as well.

Several yrs back, I bought 60 lbs of better grade stuff from him for $50. Some rust on cut areas, long pieces with lots of good internals,some bolts good. I guess he is at the bottom of the barrel.

I suppose that this is unrelated, but I remember a Sgt Major That I served with in 60's said that the Brit's could have taken Arnhem bridge if their armored div. had not stopped for tea. He was there.

Ron, There may very well be tons of BAR's in Phillipines, as well as lots of other goodies. I saw (about 10 yrs ago) at Villamor Air Base, formerly Nichols Field, truck loads of US & Jap WW2 small arms & ammo piled up in one of the giant hangars just rusting away. The inventory documentation of all military property stored there & other locations across the nation is unbelievably non-existant. If you can dig up some details on the BAR's I have a friend in Quezon City who can check it out. Pic's taken near Ton Sohn Nhut in mid 80's,there were also some conex's full of unissued K98's ,MG34's. There was near 1000 1911A1's that were sold to A Filipino with connections to govt. for about $25 ea. They wanted $200 ea. for K98's. The officials in charge had no authority to negotiate.

I would not worry about 60 yr old parts, they were made at a time when quality was at the utmost. Most recently made parts are only made to sell, profit first, quality last. The original parts are far better quality than the crap made today. The springs made by Wolf are quality, as good as original, the crap made by kahr sucks.
