  1. Point to be considered. If one cannot discern a Colt barrel from another like barrel, what's the difference, life is too short to worry about such minutia.
  2. Dont know what there charging but its all pretty crappy looking to me.
  3. Don't you have to be an importer of Firearms and own an FFL business to use a form 6? I don't believe just anyone can use a form 6 or is there something I'm missing.
  4. Unbelievably stupid prices. Armalite AR 18- 35K. Mac 11 -over 15K. Colt 614 - 32K. MP40- 53K. I don't know, that might be the place to sell my collection when it comes time, the crazy buyers must not care about getting better prices elsewhere, they obviously have deep pockets.
  5. The ammo shoots fine but beware. You had better fastidiously clean your gun after shooting this stuff because it will take less than a day for rust to start appearing where you did not remove all the residue. I sold my last 2 cans of that stuff a year or two ago as I didnt want to deal with even the remotest chance of damaging my very expensive guns. If you have a parkerized finish on your Thompson you might be alright if you dont let every spec off but if you have a blued finished gun you better do a very good job of it.
  6. Dietrich was my favorite character in the show. He wasn’t portrayed as a snarling evil monster like a Reinhard Heinrich but rather a man who respected the people that he was forced to fight and you the viewer felt that he wished that he didn’t have to, so yes he came off as a very sympathetic character. This series helped Gudegast get more noticeable roles and landed him as the lead in a science fiction called “Colossus, the Forbin Project” where he first used his new Americanized name Braeden. A good film which portrayed the notion of a computer system taking over the whole world. I think Robert Ludlum had something to do with the story, but it was a story that predicted the power of mans own invention and how it could come back to haunt him.
  7. Frank, if you can find those photos, yes please do post them. I remember seeing them years ago, I recall that Stack was pictured on a couch looking over Gordon's shoulder as he was showing him the Thompson. I know I had a copy of those photos but for the life of me I cannot find them. I have pretty much the same case that "keepshooting" has posted. A very nice case, very sturdy and a well made reproduction that I'm guessing is from the 70's or 80"s. I also have one of Gordon's Viola cases, another extremely well made item, I really have only used it once, it's almost too nice to use. Stack was a very nice fellow and an ardent supporter of the 2nd Amendment and firearms in general. The "Untouchables" TV series kept his career alive and brought him into the homes of millions of viewers every week, It is the role that he is pretty much remembered by these days.
  8. As a kid I watched the show and greatly enjoyed it. I now have all the discs of the entire run and yes now that I'm older I can spot all the errors that show up. And didn't it always seem like they repeated the same scenario over and over in nearly every episode. They have the "raid", and then the always successful "getaway". I always felt sorry for the hapless German captain "Hans Dietrich" as played by Hans Gudegast who you now know as Eric Braeden. In real life if that captain had that many failures in battle, he would have been shot or at least sent to the Russian front. Here are two lead combatants, Christopher George and Eric. Mr. Braden kindly signed my photo in both his monikers as he was still known as Hans back then. Great stuff, grab the popcorn, dim the lights, relax and watch. But above all, don't take it too seriously.
  9. Yes, perhaps the bureau did some good back in the day. Now that they are just a tool of the left wing politicians I would call for their disbandment. Just another corrupt government bureaucracy that’s gone totally out of control.
  10. They are in the UK. I have already had a failure of getting a magazine through customs, I lost money on that and I’ll never buy anything gun related from over seas again, at least till we get a new government in place.
  11. I was aware of those for quite some time however at nearly $450 for one 20rd mag, I will just have to pass, too much Linguine.
  12. Sarco had those made, not sure if they were imported, I don't think so. I talked with one of the head honchos over there about these a year or two ago. He said the dies are still available with the mfg and they could make them again. He said his concern was that they would take forever to sell as he said that's what happened with the last stock. I told him that I would buy a bunch if they were available and that I was sure others would do the same. It might be worth calling them and trying to convince them it would be a good investment to make more of them. They could probably ask $200 apiece and easily sell.
  13. Your comment is well spoken and accurate. We have already passed the rubicon, people will have to decide if they will be a herd of sheep or free people and fight for the Constitution, as all 3 branches of government have disregarded it for far to long and want to rewrite it to their liking.
  14. The time will soon be here when you will have to decide if you will actually follow all of these unconstitutional laws that are passed by these communists/globalist nazis. It’s coming believe me. I know what path I will follow.
  15. Yes, the carrot has been dangled for years on these from SSD. We are all interested in these but it just hasn't been true that these are available for the general public to purchase. Mr. Dingo has some 'splanin" to do.
  16. Some British Thompson Drum pouches from my collection. If the brits used any pouches they probably used these type. I would bet dollars to doughnuts some of these were used on 6-6-44 on Gold and Sword beaches. Just because they were stamped US would not necessarily preclude them from Limey usage. We were all one big happy family on that day.
  17. David, looks like we previously covered this ground a while back.... http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25938&hl=xm177
  18. David that particular XM sling was discussed on a thread a couple of years ago, at least I think the discussion was on this board. So there must be more of these around unless the one you bought is the very same one that was shown by someone else.
  19. No pictures. Is this one of Dillinger’s. Just kidding. Kind of pricey for a L drum pouch.
  20. So you would need to file a Form 5320.20 ahead of time for each of your guns before you actually make your move to a new residence. Makes, sense however I wonder how many owners are actually tardy in doing so. Does one receive a paper response from ATF on each gun to confirm a change of address has been made?
