  1. I had Dan (deerslayer)make an extended horizontal grip for a Kahr 27 that I used to own. I wanted a GI 28 look and that made a great illusion of shorter brl. I wish I'd have known about the Cutts setback or Green Mtn barel, that would have really made it look even better !! Actually the more time I spend on the board the sadder I am I sold mine!!!

  17. I believe this may have some relavance to this topic. A friend works for a an importer and he told me the last batch of Mosin Nagants they recieved were all S/N corrected so stocks recievers and bolts ect matched I asked how they made #'s match and he said they stamped lines thru #"s and renumbered as needed. Sounds similiar to TSMG doctoring to me. I guess labor must be real cheap to do it to rifles that retail for just under $100 USD. Also they must have ability to do large # of guns as Nagants are very plentiful. My theory is they doctored all guns at one time and then disbursed them, some came to USA and were then sold as parts kits. Others ended up in reciever friendly counties like the sidthefields70 and were sold as matching # guns. My theory may be all wrong because what I don't know is where the receivers were cut into AFT compliant pieces. Was it done in USA or off shore. Did anyone see the guns in an uncut state in USA and see number corrections ? It's only a theory....dave
  18. Ron K bought my Dads and my gun(28n 13656) in 1990. We did ask dealer about prior history for 7013 and he had none to offer...I did'nt think to push issue... Condition of gun made pedigree less important at the time. I beleive gun came from another individual and dealer may have been protecting his privacy. I remember dealer having other guns and he shared whatever info he had on them.I remember looking at a 21a that was from a movie prop co. Finish was really worn and it still had restrictor for blanks in barrel. It came up after I bought 28n and had no more $ for another gun.All this took place 23 years ago and I dont know if dealer is still in business. Dealer was C and C Sports Center owned by Charlie Gallo. Located outside Phila.PA. Anyone know if he's still in business.?
  19. OK with that issue decided here is my question. Who was the original purchaser of Colt 21ac #7013? It was my Dad's gun. He purchased it from a dealer and dealer had no history and my only reference source was Cox's 2 publications and it was not listed. The gun was all original and 95+% finish. He sold it in 1990 and I would love to know as much of it's history as possible. Dave
  20. Jim, Thanks for posting these citations. I am in awe of the bravery of these men. Having not served I can't imagine the hell of combat or the bravery displayed by our soldiers. My heartfelt thanks to all who served. My freedom was not free. Dave
  21. Hello all, I enjoy this site and it's collected Tommygun knowledge.I wish it was available 20 years ago when I had my Tommyguns. Sadly the guns are long gone but the interest never dies...it only goes into remmission!! A few years back I hired a classmates son to help with a project. He told me that they make an airsoft Thompson M1 and soon the UPS truck delivered my new toy...that was the reawakening... I still enjoy reading about them and looking at them even though I will not be owning a real one any time soon! I had some unanswered questions about the guns I once owned and would like to ask them here. I observed that posters X the last digit of their s/n for privacy. Is it OK to post a full s/n if you don't own the gun any more? Thanks, Dave
