  1. Honestly, finding one priced in the teens is a rarity in my travels. IMHO, prices are staying about the same as they've been for a while, and if you do find one priced below twenty, you shouldn't hesitate, because the next guy won't !!! Just my 2 cents.
  2. I also want to say thanks to everyone for the kindness and hospitality that I received. Met a lot of new Thompson Attics, and had the greatest time at the show, and the shoot, despite the hot weather. I had some jamms in the shoots, but learned from them, and if I can make it next year, Ya'll better watch out !!! LOL Friday evening was a hoot at the Granville, listening to Frank talking about something having a mind all it's own, and when it's hungry, It's gonna eat !!! We decided not to venture out Saturday night, and stayed at the Cherri, that was a good time also. Again, it was Great to meet everyone, Sig, Tony V., Tom, Tracie, Dave A., Askew, the Wanks, Merle, Dan B.,to many friendly folks to remember them all. Hope to make it next year, Jack M.
  3. If anyone needs any ammo, I just ordered 2K rds. of 230 grain S&B. My cost was $407. per K. A bit more than Winchester white box, but better quality IMHO. I will be bringing it to the TATA.

  5. There is a property number etched in the receiver, and a property number stamped on the stock, they are two numbers apart. Maybe that is just the way it is, or possibly switched ?????
  6. There were two Multnomah county, Portland Oregon Thompson submachine guns. Both 28 Navy's. I am the caretaker of one, the other I believe was ser# 11204. I think there is a possibility that the butt stocks might have been switched at some time. If anyone can help with info on contacting the owner, it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks Much, Jack
  7. What is the coarse of fire at the shoot ? Might need to do a little practice !!
  8. Received the original shipping info from Doug, I am very pleased to now know the original origin of shipping of #9151. I've already made contact with the police dept., and hopefully will get some assistance, pictures, or stories from them. Thanks much Doug, well worth the $56.
  9. I wish I knew you were at the Creek David, I was shooting on Line 19, I think that was the number, invited by a good friend, Would have been nice to talk, Maybe next time, or at the TATA show and shoot, Take Care, Jack
  10. I see Joe at all the Indy 1500 shows, and he has always been very professional, and informitive. I would not heitate to do business with him. A+ Jack
  11. Did anyone else see the Colt 21, #1613, I think, under glass, just a bit further in than the $21K Colt, on the same south side ? The gentleman said it was musuem quality, $35K, I did not handle it, I think there was a Savage 28 in the same display case.
  12. I sent the $56. for a Colt shipping record, has anyone else done this, if so, was the result satisfactory ? Thanks
  13. Careful what you start Mike, sometimes borrowed mules kick a bit !!!!! ;- ]
  14. In my humble opinion, $35K minus $5K for C-Drum- $500. for L drum, Tommy cost = $29,500. 4-5 years ago I gave $29K for a 1921A, with Greg Fox Police case, Bridgeport L drum, and 4 Patent Date mags, and yea, I'll be honest, I felt a little a sick after I said I'll take it, but I wouldn't Take my money back now. So it my be a fair price if you want it for your personal collection, if your buying to make a $ on, bad investment, IMOP
  15. Received case today. Very nice craftsmanship, very strong thick handle, I am very pleased. It came with a letter of recomendations, such as carrying the case with all the drums and mags loaded is not recomended, to much weight. The "Bullet Logo" is on a soft piece of cloth, designed to cover your weapon, or to display as a drop cloth. The latches are not lockable, and seem to be of high quality. This one was #61, a nice case, I think anyone would be pleased.
  16. It will be a few weeks before I aquire it, and then will try to get some pics, just wish someone had a little info. Thanks
  17. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with a "Police" hard case, manufactred by American Trunk and Case Co. ? How would it rate with quality, price, and collectability, to a Sweatman? Thanks
  18. That might be the only one to go the ebaY way for a while.... I think he was just testing the water.... I ended up with it, by surprise. I put my hi-bid in at $485., and went to bed. I thought it would have went a little higher, at least in the low to mid five range. I'll give some feed-back when it arrives. P.S. And yes, I bet it will be way a ton when fully packed, hope it has a veeeeeery strong handle.
  19. Googled this. Old thread BUMP Still looking for any current caretakers of former Michigan State Police Colt Thompson's to assist with my research on same. I am caretaker of #8061. These are the serial #'s we are aware of through Gordon's 5th edition. 1723, 1766, 6007, 7490, 8061, 8601, 8639, 8799, 8812, 8831, 9253, 9726 There is a bit of information that 1723, 7490 and 8831 where for sale at one time so must have been transferred out by that logic. 1723 was apparently offered for sale in Shotgun News 3/94, who purchased we do not know. 7490 (in 1987) and 8831 (?)were apparently offered by Law Enforcement Ordnance, but who acquired we do not know. Anyone?
  20. The Ser. # was 1766 Hi David and others, I spoke to Shawn Tuesday morning, and he informed me he had not gotten any reply from the owner, and possibly he had gotten cold feet. or possibly someone else had gotten to him. As of today, he has not communicated with me as well. Unfortunate for everyone invovled, I as much as you, would have loved to of added this piece of history to my collection, but Oh well. I guess we live and learn, and when you get the feeling something isn't quite right, it usually isn't. If it looks like poop, and smells like poop, it's probably poop. I pasted the e-mail I received, just for your entertainment. Better Luck next time to us all, Take Care David, and Happy Holiday's to all.
