  1. I have some 30 rounders covered heavily in cosmoline. Various manufactures. I'd take $45 a piece for plus flat rate USPS shipping. PM me if your interested and I'll send you some pics.
  2. Only been there once, and that was this last spring. Very little class 3
  3. Well hopefully be there this morning, couldn't make it yesterday long flight delay in indianapolis. I sent you a PM
  4. Guessing by the color, it has the original 2-piece actuator. Nice
  5. Here is a picture of #238 showing the location of the "Early" Semi-Automatic markings.
  6. https://auctions.morphyauctions.com/_N__EXTRAORDINARY_PAIR_OF_VERY_LOW_CONSECUTIVE_SER-LOT551287.aspx These two have been around for sale for a few years. Maybe this time they'll find a new home. A few of us have discussed this in the past, please make note of the location where the trigger frame is marked "Semi-Automatic" on the two firearms, and compare. #134 is typical of what is seen on early Colt's. #135's marking is further forward, which is typical of those observed starting above numbers 250ish and higher. Not insinuating anything, just an observation that we discovered a few years ago while examining and discussing the very early numbers. There are exceptions to everything, and a good learning point for new and seasoned collectors. Reference page 170 of "An Amateur's Guide for the Colt's Thompson Submachine Gun"
  7. A Richardson grip is a vey high quality reproduction of a Colt, and they carry a fairly high value. Thus the temptation to turn a $30 Pakistan grip into $500. Not a bad profit margin. If you don't "Smell the Stink" then I'm sorry.
  8. There is a posting on Gunbroker for a Richardson reproduction vertical grip. It appears different in finish, and the "R" stamping is quite different. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/953871213 Recon Bob has sold a few of the Richardson grips recently, and hopefully he will comment. If I remember correctly, they sold for north of $500. I do not know or have any connection with the seller, this is just my observation and opinion. Is it a true Richardson reproduction? Or a fake of a reproduction? LOL
  9. Very sad. I will always remember the interesting presentations he gave and the conversations we had. He will be greatly missed. RIP my friend.

  11. I think this is the third proclaimed "New Old Stock" Colt barrel that have surfaced in the last 2-3 months. That's three more than I've heard of in the last three years. There were a couple guy's that used to set up at every Knob Creek, and they always had a NOS Colt barrel, or so they claimed. Without any provenance, I personally have reservations of any of them being original Colt. Just my 2 cents
  12. Looking for any of the owners of former Cleveland PD Thompsons. Serial #'s 190, 310, 311, and 321. If you happen to be the caretaker of any of these, please send me a PM. I have something that may be of interest to you. Thanks
  13. Absolutely correct Nick, sometimes you get lucky and the number is partially visible, but not always.
  14. With all due respect. When someone is genuinely interested in a 100 year old Thompson collectable, they hope to acquire it at a somewhat reasonable, but fair price, Meaning they hope it will stay "On the down low" When those who have no intention of purchasing become "The Whistle Blower" it always drives the price up beyond what I consider reasonable, and those with unlimited funds are the ones who end up with the treasures, Like I said, no disrespect, but I hope some think about this, if not, I hope I can repay the disfavor someday !!!!
  15. Had a great time at the show, just wanted to say thank you to the Hill family for the gracious hospitality. They put a lot of work in before, during and after the show to allow this event to be enjoyed by all. Hope it continues in the future !!!
