jjvpo8
I am sure most of you here saw these: Two Colt Thompsons were auctioned yesterday at Poulin's in Maine. Reserve was most likely not met on SN 11464. Auction estimate was 35-45K (25K Hammer price) Second one was SN 9851 auction estimate was 20-30K (21K hammer price) Both hammer prices seemed cheap if they actually were sold. https://www.proxibid.com/Firearms-Military-Artifacts/Firearms/COLT-MODEL-1921-THOMPSON-SMG/lotInformation/46943455 https://www.proxibid.com/Firearms-Military-Artifacts/Firearms/COLT-MODEL-1921-THOMPSON-SMG/lotInformation/46943454 Edited April 2, 2019 by jjvpo8
rpbcps
Wow... "WPSCO” marked L- Drum, that must be worth a few bob itself, not many of those about! Stay safe Richard
bob241
According to the listing, neither colt still had the original barrel, one listed as a savage barrel, the other was listed with a barrel without a index mark.
TD.
Agree with bob241. Colt's with replacement barrels usually do not bring premium prices. In addition, the butt stock on NO 9851 is very suspect - see the sling swivel. And the vertical fore grip on NO 11464 was cracked and repaired. A personal inspection would be strongly recommended and may uncover more problems. Don't forget there is also a buyers premium that will raise the price for NO 9851 to approximately 25K and NO 11464 to approximately 30K. That said, I do like that WPSCO L drum! johnsonlmg41
And to many states they are now charging sales tax. If you live in MT, it's all good, if not it could be a big deal.
