pmanton
I really disliked having to hold the little button down with a small screwdriver when removing the trigger assembly.I drilled a paperclip sized hole in the rear of the receiver into the takedown button while I was holding it down. Now I push the button down and stick a paper clip into the hole and the button stays down while removing the trigger assembly. The small hole is unnoticeable.

TennesseeTaylor95
That's a cool idea, but how do you ensure that the hole that is in the frame latch stays properly indexed to the hole in the back of the receiver to allow clear passage for a paperclip through one part and into the other? I figure that the frame latch doesn't move around all too much, but it might need to be removed/reinstalled or it might rotate enough to get out of alignment with the hole in the receiver. If this ever happens, I suppose that you could put the frame latch in a lathe and cut a small square groove around the circumference of the frame latch at the height of where you drilled your original hole. Given that the groove is deep enough in the material to catch the end of a paperclip and has squared off shoulders to "grab on" to the paperclip when the frame latch sring applies pressure to it, it should allow you to remove and reinstall the frame latch without having to worry about re-indexing it to the hole in the receiver. Granted I have not tried this and this is just a vocalized thought in the event that you ever run into that sort of problem so take it with a grain of salt. pmanton
It's too early to tell it the button will turn so the holes don't line up. I ordered an extra button and spring if further experimentation is needed. If the button turns so the holes don't line up, I could thread the hole for a small set screw. I'll snap some pics in a day or so and post them.
Countryboy77
Im guessing you didnt do this to an expensive collectable.Ypu know you could have pulled the floating pin and spring and put a push pin in tgat could easily be removed any time the stock is removed. No need to drill Edited September 29, 2022 by Countryboy77

Burgernut
I like it, be neat to be able to incorporate some kind of push button catch into that.
