Removing Compensator

Recommended Posts

Not to give Doug Richardson all the buisness.but he has a front sight puller for your M1 in his catalog.+ the catalog has alot of tools you will need when rebuilding a Thompson.

I think the catalog is around 3-5 dollars. It's worth it if you don't already have one yet.

Actually, both comps on my parts sets turned off by hand after knocking out the pin. Getting the barrel off of the cut receiver is proving difficult, even with a Thompson barrel vice block set. I can't seem to get the barrel from turning in the blocks. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the info Elbow, especially about DR's catalog (of which I own several older issues), but I don't plan to spend a lot of time working on my gun (go ahead with the smart-ass Kahr jokes, fellas http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif )...I just want to pull the sight off of my 16" barrel and install it on my soon-to-be purchased 10.5" barrel (AS SOON AS THE TAX STAMP ARRIVES http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif ) when I hollywood-style bfa it...will the gear puller idea work as Mike suggests? It's cheaper and probably a lot faster to get...
