Magazine Enhancer

Recommended Posts

Looks like it is designed for use with the BRP guns, not your standard "real" AOC, COLT, NAC, or WH 1928.

I asked the question because I read their ad to include all Thompsons that are capable of using drum magazines, not just the BRP product. The Enhancer appears as if it can be installed on all Thompson models that are capable of using drum magazines, even the semi-auto 1927A1. They sell parts and accessories for a variety of machine guns, not just their BRP submachine guns.

I read it the same as you as being also for a thompson.

I can not say I have any experience with this, but let me ask this. Have you ever had this be a problem. I am still pretty darn new at Thompsons, sitting at about 700rds right now through mine. The magazine on mine locks up so tight I can not see this as being an issue.

Your mileage may vary, but for the experience I have had so far, this looks alot like a solution in search of a problem.

Thanks everybody. I appreciate your thoughts.

I sent BRP an email and asked whether the device is limited to their subguns or if it was also usable in other Thompson 1921, 1928, and 1927A1 applications. Their reply, "It fits into the drum slot to bridge the gap between the front of the magazine and the start of the feed ramp. The “legs” stabilize left/right movement. Basically, it remedies the loose mag problem people with 21 and 28 gun typically have."

From that plus what I've read so far, (1) the device will install in all Thompson models that are capable of using drum magazines, even the semi-auto 1927A1, and (2) no one who responded as of yet has felt the need to buy one of the devices.

At $30, I may get one to use in the 27A1 as the closed bolt operation seems to be more sensitive to stick mag wiggle.

Given that the T slot in the back of the Thompson magazine would keep alignment. I have never run into any issues with the magazine alignment when firing the guns. this may be a bigger issue for the BRP look alikes, Perhaps just a solution in search of a problem.....

I agree with the above that left to right wiggle has never been a problem. The main mag problem are the feed lips or the mag catch not holding the mag in the corect up or down position.

Just my 2 cents.
