Bonnie & Clyde Tommy Gun Auction

Recommended Posts

In a search for something else, I came across this auction which I do not know if is recent. It says "Live & Online Bidding Available - Saturday, January 21st", so even if it was this year, we have missed it.

I have not seen it posted on the forum though, so I thought it may be of interest and if already posted, I apologise for overlooking it and repeating the post.

My Apologise for not carrying out due diligence and checking the serial number in Gordons Colt Thompson books.

Gordon has a lot of notes made on this Model of 1921, including the auction date, which took place in 2012, no wonder I could not find any reference to it on the forum.

The 4467 Amnesty registration form is very interesting and has an anomalie rarely encountered with 4467 Amnesty registered MGs. The submission date is past the end of the last day legally open for registration. Just above the date box is the statement informing registrants that the last day of the registration period is Dec 1,1968. The submission date is Dec. 10, 1968.

Having seen many 4467 registrations, a few with submission dates in the last few days of November, ‘68, this one is very unique, and clearly it was accepted, processed and approved. No doubt with a bit of grease applied to smooth its acceptance. FWIW

Thanks, Dutch-

Only update I have from 2011 is Colt Chopper now DOES own a 1930s gangster Thompson, the famous Baby Face Nelson Thompson. And, congratulations on your awards this past weekend at the MI. show.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thought there was one link left to solve before proving that was a Nelson TSMG - everything pointed to it but it was not determinative.

Read the 15-20 pages of posts on it and remember that.
