Bruce L
Does anyone have experience good, bad or otherwise with this case? Is it worth the $250 investment for carrying my gun to the range occasionally? Many thanks!
APEXgunparts
I obtained mine thru this sale that IMA ran in November 2019, knowing that I would have to put some time into making it presentable:https://www.ima-usa.com/products/trunk-of-assorted-grade-2-original-military-antiques-and-reproductions-box-37?variant=31095809900613 After the cleaning, it was time to use a "hot glue" gun to secure all the parts of the outer textured vinyl covering that had come loose. My goal was just to have a cool case to transport my gun to the range, and I think this is goal was met.The lock is more decorative than anything, but the latches work fine.It is odd that IMA chose dimensions that only fit the SMG / SBR length barrel, great for me but not the broad appeal that the case would have to owners of the commercial semi-auto.Richard
Bruce L
Thanks Richard. I had the larger GPC case years ago. It was fairly well built. I got an IMA canvas case a while back on a whim. It’s just a little too small to accommodate a gun with a compensator.
rpbcps
I purchased one and had it shipped across to the UK, together wth a few Martini-Henry Rifle bits and pieces, back in Nov. 2013. The handle looks a bit weak, if you were to use it to carry your gun about a lot, but I only purchsed it display piece, so it fits the bill for my needs. Quality wise though, the Gordon Herigstad viola case I bought back in Jan 2013, far out weighs the IMA hard case. I guess you get what you pay for. dmull200
Suggestions for Thompsons with bolted stocks and a cutts, everything seems to be too short or too long? (10 inch barrel) Edited October 15, 2020 by dmull200
Vettom
I have 2 cases I use, both are repops and work fine for my 1928 and another for my 1927semi with a long barrel but it has removable stock also. I have a spare NIB long case for a semi but not sure it would not work for a non-detachable stock Thompson.

DFisch
I definitely agree with the opinions of the cases by Mr. Fox. I just received my police hard case today and its gorgeous! Now all I need are four Colt-era XX mags and the Colt gun itself and Ill be doing OK!
