I am sure most will want to speculate here that this may not be an original. I know this TCA member and this one is original.

Over 4K for an empty box....

Oh I know it's a real collector's item and the price could be right in line with the market, but it's just rediculous to me to spend that much for a tin box......

Phil, as everyone is aware, AO did have these Metal Boxes produced, and are quite rare today. His BIN Price is well within reason. Though back in 1992, one like it sold for $500.00 from a well known Thompson individual without any Parts.

Jerry P. of Recon Ord. recently turned down 8k for complete kit. The origionals are rare and collectable. I am able to find Colt Thompsons easier than the ORIGIONAL spare parts kits(I have 2).

Jerry P. told a friend of mine that he sold 2 complete set's last year from $4500.00 to $5000.00. Have they really gone up $3000.00 in the last year?!

WOW!!! now $8,000.00 each..........i think we are getting hyped out of the market...
gordon's will do for some people....
my suggestion.take $25,000.00 cash in c-notes' frame them and put them on a wall..in a room you go into everyday...
and think of some thing's you do without or maybe might like to have...other pleasures in life> besides a "thompson"
then say everyday as you walk by it...can't spend it can't touch it nope can't do it...thats a thompson in the safe...
i now watch "combat" with a m.g.c.replica..wink!!
and the framed moolah look's great!!
however when guest's arrive they ask "is that for real??"
oh on the empty spare kit price.......T.G. at its finest......hopefully it will sell for $89,000.00..then the gordon box will bring in at least a grand!
it's still fun to read this stuff, maybe this year of 2005 we can hit a new high....we have to have the colt's at $50,000.00 plus.........take care, ron

How many original boxes were made?
If they are selling from $4,000 to $8,000 dollars
, I would assume that it is a low number.

[Wonder if I should begin inventing rare Thompson accessories that never existed; they wouldn't be fakes, only the provenance I might concoct, with tongue in cheek.]
Phil.....OH.....Phil........Not you as well. Come back from the dark side.
