Welcome, Rich.  Got a Thompson, or thinking about it, or...  ?

Planning to purchase one in the next few months.

Reading and checking as to the best vendor and prices.

This is a great site and will help me in getting up to speed.

Anyone in Mississippi know any vendors that they would recommed?

Yes, I saw that MHP was selling a Thompson and I'm sure it will be for BIG bucks! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif

As colt thompson's go it should be a lot cheaper than some. I believe the wood and the barrel are not original. Still they willn't be giving it away. You might check with Mike Smith in Purvis. He handles a few guns.

Hi Rich,

I don't know of many places in MS you could "Tommy shop", but if you are not in a hurry a trip to Knob Creek in October might be worth your time. The last couple of trips, prices have been a little bit inflated compared to what you find on the boards (seemed to me anyway) but you can see things firsthand, there are usually numerous Thompsons of varying models, and if you are not trading something you could probably get a competetive price. Even if you don't buy anything, getting to see the collection of firearms there is worth it.

Apologies for the rambling if you have already been there! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif

Rich,

Does Jackson, MS still have the "gun-slinging" mayor?

RICH!welcome to my nightmare. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

you should try and get the missi gun. if not too much moolah for you. since you live in the state. my biggest regret was selling a few illinois gun's i have owned. four of them.and one from ill. state police.

not many come up on the market with real history anymore. and when they do they always want a premium price.

have fun with the site. alot of helpful folk here.

i have even been known to sometime help out with bizzare info http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif from time to time.

keep the history alive.

Welcome Rich,

always good to have backup here to keep an eye on those Yankees. You'll feel right at home here if you know anything about old tractors, motorcycles, beer women, or very old stories.

I think most here would suggest taking your time, decide what you want, do a lot of research, and if you find something-- post it here and everyone will give you the pros and cons.

I mean that as they will critique that gun !!! Unlike elsewhere where you will MEET a lot of "pros" and "cons" out there, like some of the ads you'll see elsewhere.

You may also want to get a copy of MACHINE GUN MIKE's 2007 calander (link above) however I must forwarn you that if you look close it only has 6 days! SATURDAY IS MISSING-- am I the first to notice this?????

Has no one else looked at the days/ numbers yet???

Still a good calander, I just Majic Mark in Sat. because I get confused easily.

Ya'll come by and see us, hear?

Bill
