  1. Thats a first I've seen when it comes to barrels. As far as I am concerned, that puts up a red flag. We will see what happens when someone finally tries to install one on a newer production gun.
  2. We have seen all the "other" Thompsons go up in price, why would the West Hurleys not go up as well?
  3. I thought about making my 1928 Westie look like a 21A, I love the classic look too.
  4. It has the TF serial number, which means that it was a .22lr converted to 45 ACP and probably has the re-cut locking slots.
  5. I have seen a Class 2 conversion info and no the bolt is not modified, but IIRC you have to modify the safety selector and disconnecter.
  6. Half hour? If you remove the commercials it was like ten to twelve minutes of actual show. I would like to have seen both guns side by side for a visual comparison of the differences between the two.
  7. She tilts my kilt. Giantpanda has it right, hanging out with Liberace, "she" could be a "he".
  8. Yeah I remember that story from a while back. What a mess that turned into.
  9. Keep in mind that many times a West Hurley has frame cracks, the owner used a "Speed bolt" or removed the ears from the Blish Lock.
  10. So what kind of crap metal was the West Hurley made of such that it would crack or "eat itself alive"? I assume that PK repairs require some creative welding of the receiver on the inside? PM sent... Tag.
  11. Cracked receivers were usually caused by speed bolts or by removing the Blish lock ears.
  12. Why don't you have the locking slots looked at, not all of the West Hurleys need the locking slots repaired. I will check and see if I still have the pictures of good and bad slots so you can check for yourself. Don't fall into the pitfall that ALL Westies need them repaired.
  13. That was what I was thinking. Probably trying to save time on the assembly line.
  14. You didn't get 1103 from Rust, did ya? Nope. Both drums were bought from two different local gun shops. The drum 627 was bought from a shop that had drums in stock (The owner has a WH). I also bought a couple of "L" drums from him and a repo FBI case. The 1103 I got from another shop that ordered it in from one of his regular suppliers, probably JSC or RSR.
  15. I have two Kahr "C" drums, serial numbers are on both sides of the drum on both drums! 000627 001103 Note: serial numbers are also on the original boxes.
  16. If the box is numbered does that mean that Kahr did not make the drum? Is that a WH drum? I have two C drums that are in the original boxes with the serial number on the box. Mike, I'm going by what Merle B told me in a phone call when I wanted to learn about the "modern era " C drums from the "Drum Dr." I don't know what the first Kahr drums had as far as labels but the more recent Kahr C drums have T14KT label along with the Thompson bullet logo. I'd have to dig out a ATA or TATA newsletter to see if they discuss how the West Hurley C drums were packaged. If you are to to take the drums out of their packaging you should be able to determine which C drum you have by looking at the "pinned" reference thread for magazines and drums Maybe someone that owns a West Hurley C drum may be able to post how they were packaged and if the serial numbers were on the outside of the box. Ross Well due to the fact that the boxes have the T14KT and the "000" prefix on the serial numbers I would say they are Kahr made "C" drums and my boxes have the serial numbers on them. I will post the serial numbers on the serial number reference post to be added to the list. (000627 & 001103)
  17. If the box is numbered does that mean that Kahr did not make the drum? Is that a WH drum? I have two C drums that are in the original boxes with the serial number on the box.
  18. Um no, you need the serial number off the rifle for the Form 1. I found it a lot cheaper to make a SBR M1 due to the fact that a factory SBR is $600 over the cost of a regular Tommy.
  19. Hey people want to know the good and bad with these companies selling parts kits, if you don't like what I posted, then move on. Yes, the COMPLETE parts kit was advertised with an actuator. The internals kit was advertised with an ACTUATOR. So if you are still following me, I ordered and paid for both the complete 28 kit and a complete 28 internals kit, so I should have received a total of two actuators. And yes I like to have plenty of spare parts. I called them and they did not want to do anything, so that GIVES me the right to post this information wherever and when ever I wish to do so, even if it's a "few years back". What they did was make even more money by shorting me one actuator and as everybody know they are not ten dollar items.
  20. Buyer beware on IMA. A few years back while I was waiting for my Westie transfer, I ordered a complete 28 parts kit plus an extra internals kit and they shorted me one actuator. When I called them about the shortage, they said that's the way they are being sent out now.
