  1. Look like a British proof mark on the bolt. Can you get a close up shot of it. May indicate British use at some point.
  2. The original NOS barrels are more expensive and will be in a matte blue DuLite finish. If you have a parked receiver it won’t match. Depends on how authentic you want the gun to appear......Jimmy
  3. If Reconbob doesn’t have the barrel in question. Richard at Tommygun collectibles had some NOS Savage and Stevens barrels. Not sure about other makes. The one I got was stone mint.....Jimmy
  4. . Does it have a prick punch mark anywhere near the breech. It can be hard to see.......Jimmy
  5. Anyone know of a nice hard case for M1 or M1A1. That and a few accessories. Historically correct not important.....Thanks Jimmy

  14. I have already put in a FOIA request. I will of course share any and all information gained as I learn more about my new toy. I'm also glad my quest for the history of my Thompson has brought forth information that can help others......Thanks again Jimmy
  15. I believe that's probably what happened as well. That she came back as a war trophy had its barrel welded up as a Form 5. Then at some point reactivated as a functional machine gun. The British markings give it a hint of mystery, at least too me.......Thanks Jimmy
  16. Were any deactivated Thompsons imported into the US from Britain in the 50s or 60s.
  17. Here is the front of the receiver. Looks like she was originally a Dewat.
  18. If I take a picture of the receiver from the front would that help. For what it's worth the front sight is made by Stevens. Again thanks for the input.....Jimmy
