Walter, What TURD in Washington is promoting that crap? We need to flush the crapper and clear the bowl! That is deeply disturbing. John -
Are Thompsons Expensive?
TommyFan replied to Highseas's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Sig, I can give you an example of one thing I know that is comparable and is no longer made. At the turn of the century railroads used big heavy brass locks which were hand tooled. The Fraim company made a lot of these. I have two examples one of which is in as close to mint condition as you can get. These locks cost the RR's $1.75 each in 1918. The one I have cost me 300$ (considered a bargain at the time). This is an increase of over 171 times since 1918. Hope this helps. I'd like to see more examples of this too though. If we could scrounge a dozen examples and compare we might have some idea as to whether the pricing is in line or not.( Not that it matters, since price is always due to supply and demand) Since I won't own a Colt anytime soon, this might take my mind off it! -
OK Guys, What's your favorite movie showing some good Thompson action??? Wanna Bit@h About High Prices?
TommyFan replied to Hawkeye_Joe's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Well said Bill! Since this sounds like it is from overseas, is it possible this guy means Yen? With current exchange rates, 80,000 yen runs about 18-20,000 US dollars. Our western pc keyboards don't have a "yen" symbol. -

Why should it surprise you that the French missed dangerous explosives? Remember, their most well-known cop was Inspector Clouseau. -

Looking For A Dummy Thompson
TommyFan replied to faabala's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Be wary of that particular listing on Gunsamerica. There are threads on this site discussing that these are likely illegal. Trying to purchase and re-import machine guns parts that were part of the Lend-Lease Act can land you in jail. -

Speaking Of 10.5" Barrels
TommyFan replied to DDAYJune6's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
D-Day, I would have to agree with the guys on this one. I went this route, saved several hundred $ and PK did all the work to make it run right (including modifying the mag catch to accept FA mags) and it was WELL WORTH IT!!! The only part I bought extras of was the extractor. I ordered a replacement ejector from Kahr and they sent it free under warranty. Email PK fro details on the work; in the words of Mike Tyson you'll be eshtatic with the results!!!!! -

Will There Be A Recount This Year?
TommyFan replied to John Jr's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Go to www.drudgereport.com There is a story on there that at direction of the DNC, every democrat should claim they were disenfranchised at the polls no matter what. These scumbags are so successful at casting doubt on the election process that they'll claim foul even if Bush wins by a landslide and be beleived saying that it was rigged. These are the same f***in crybabies that wanted the teacher to fight their battles for them in grade school. Now they do it with lawyers in a courtroom and the same thing happens: They often get their way even when they are almost always wrong, because they know how to act like a victim. -
It sure is!!! I was even better putting a few hundred rounds downrange without a single jam or misfire. It was a great to have to spend an hour cleaningit because it actually got used! Man what a piece!!

Hawkeye, Si senor! Looks like a south of the border Thompson shot, with "Papa" snoozing or snockered on cheap Mexican wine. -

Yes he's dead, yes he was a writer, I can't speak for the fag part. I know he followed the troops and wrote for Colliers's magazine (see [/u]Citizen Soldiers by Stephen Ambrose). I never heard that he got involved in combat or saved anybody's life though. The account in Ambrose' book ain't very complimentary, so this is news to me. He just went up 100 pts in my estimation though if it's true. -
HOO-WAH!!!! Received my Semi M1 (AO/Kahr) back from PK today, and my only regret is having to wait til Saturday to put some rounds downrange. When I sent it out, it had a 16 inch barrel, loose on the trigger frame, would not come apart easily, and jammed constantly. It looked and felt like crap. It feels like a totally different weapon now-no play in the frame, smooth cocking action. I had no doubts the work would be first class, but I was amazed that so much could be done. Dealing with somebody who is a real gentleman and who helped me through the SBR process was a pleasure. PK is tops in my book. Pics and a range report are comin!

National Id Card
TommyFan replied to LIONHART's topic in Off Topic Forum - If your post disappeared look in here
Reading over this bill is scary as hell! Ever read the Book of Revelation? "It forced all the people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to be given a mark on the right hand or forehead so that no one could buy or sell excepting they had the mark." We have numbnuts trying to get microchips implanted in people (we already have them in animals!) as a national welfare ID, or to protect our kids. This law would make this scenario likely within 5 years and could be used to cut out ANYBODY the powers that be decide they want to destroy. If this doesn't make you want to take an active role in the voting process, you must be dead. -

Who Are YOU Votin' Fer?
TommyFan replied to John Jr's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
DDay, if you believe it is likely that Kerry will win and he is worse than Bush, you need to get out and vote or you are actually helping Kerry win by not voting. -
