  1. Merry Christmas to all! Been a long gap since I posted -fatherhood (first time) took me away for about 20 months. PK, Zamm, Phill, a special blessing for each of you, you are all great people!!! All of you for your kind words, encouragement and positive outlook that reflects everything that is great about our country! Take care, John
  2. Walter, What TURD in Washington is promoting that crap? We need to flush the crapper and clear the bowl! That is deeply disturbing. John
  3. Sig, I can give you an example of one thing I know that is comparable and is no longer made. At the turn of the century railroads used big heavy brass locks which were hand tooled. The Fraim company made a lot of these. I have two examples one of which is in as close to mint condition as you can get. These locks cost the RR's $1.75 each in 1918. The one I have cost me 300$ (considered a bargain at the time). This is an increase of over 171 times since 1918. Hope this helps. I'd like to see more examples of this too though. If we could scrounge a dozen examples and compare we might have some idea as to whether the pricing is in line or not.( Not that it matters, since price is always due to supply and demand) Since I won't own a Colt anytime soon, this might take my mind off it!
  4. OK Guys, What's your favorite movie showing some good Thompson action??? I know it's been posted before, but I got tired of following old threads and am soooooo lazy I want to see if I can locate this on one thread for easier access for myself any other bodies who want spend $$$ buying movies to watch over the winter (wife is 7.5 mos pregnant=I'm desperate and need entertainment while I'm too broke to go out and sleeping on the couch!!!) Thanks!!! John
  5. Well said Bill! Since this sounds like it is from overseas, is it possible this guy means Yen? With current exchange rates, 80,000 yen runs about 18-20,000 US dollars. Our western pc keyboards don't have a "yen" symbol.
  6. QUOTE Or wearing camouflage at gun show] Pat K, Good observation. Those folks can be a little scarey! Especially when they ask if you what you think of the federal government and show you pictures of their "commune"
  7. Why should it surprise you that the French missed dangerous explosives? Remember, their most well-known cop was Inspector Clouseau.
  8. Lionhart, you owe me a clean pair of jockey shorts for the laugh you gave me!!!
  9. Wolfer, I might be interested in the M1 furniture set, especially the forend. Please email me with the information. Thanks! John
  10. Be wary of that particular listing on Gunsamerica. There are threads on this site discussing that these are likely illegal. Trying to purchase and re-import machine guns parts that were part of the Lend-Lease Act can land you in jail.
  11. D-Day, I would have to agree with the guys on this one. I went this route, saved several hundred $ and PK did all the work to make it run right (including modifying the mag catch to accept FA mags) and it was WELL WORTH IT!!! The only part I bought extras of was the extractor. I ordered a replacement ejector from Kahr and they sent it free under warranty. Email PK fro details on the work; in the words of Mike Tyson you'll be eshtatic with the results!!!!!
  12. I just had my SBR shipped via UPS 3 day without problems. Is it a possible local problem?
  13. Go to www.drudgereport.com There is a story on there that at direction of the DNC, every democrat should claim they were disenfranchised at the polls no matter what. These scumbags are so successful at casting doubt on the election process that they'll claim foul even if Bush wins by a landslide and be beleived saying that it was rigged. These are the same f***in crybabies that wanted the teacher to fight their battles for them in grade school. Now they do it with lawyers in a courtroom and the same thing happens: They often get their way even when they are almost always wrong, because they know how to act like a victim.
  14. It sure is!!! I was even better putting a few hundred rounds downrange without a single jam or misfire. It was a great to have to spend an hour cleaningit because it actually got used! Man what a piece!!
  15. Hawkeye, Si senor! Looks like a south of the border Thompson shot, with "Papa" snoozing or snockered on cheap Mexican wine.
  16. Yes he's dead, yes he was a writer, I can't speak for the fag part. I know he followed the troops and wrote for Colliers's magazine (see [/u]Citizen Soldiers by Stephen Ambrose). I never heard that he got involved in combat or saved anybody's life though. The account in Ambrose' book ain't very complimentary, so this is news to me. He just went up 100 pts in my estimation though if it's true.
  17. HOO-WAH!!!! Received my Semi M1 (AO/Kahr) back from PK today, and my only regret is having to wait til Saturday to put some rounds downrange. When I sent it out, it had a 16 inch barrel, loose on the trigger frame, would not come apart easily, and jammed constantly. It looked and felt like crap. It feels like a totally different weapon now-no play in the frame, smooth cocking action. I had no doubts the work would be first class, but I was amazed that so much could be done. Dealing with somebody who is a real gentleman and who helped me through the SBR process was a pleasure. PK is tops in my book. Pics and a range report are comin!
  18. Reading over this bill is scary as hell! Ever read the Book of Revelation? "It forced all the people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to be given a mark on the right hand or forehead so that no one could buy or sell excepting they had the mark." We have numbnuts trying to get microchips implanted in people (we already have them in animals!) as a national welfare ID, or to protect our kids. This law would make this scenario likely within 5 years and could be used to cut out ANYBODY the powers that be decide they want to destroy. If this doesn't make you want to take an active role in the voting process, you must be dead.
  19. As of 7:47 pm CST, "the page cannot be found" We have the data we wanted to manufacture, now we shut it down. Figures
  20. I don't think Davis will have a hangover-numbers this am are overwhelmingly for more gun control.
  21. DDay, if you believe it is likely that Kerry will win and he is worse than Bush, you need to get out and vote or you are actually helping Kerry win by not voting.
  22. Either a shill bid or somebody who just had a full lobotomy. "FBI case"??? Looks like a 10$ case from Wal-Mart LMAO
  23. Is this guy related to John Kerry?? Those prices must be for some other planet.
  24. WOW!!! I'm Jealous-not really(riiight!), but you have a fine piece there Murray!!!
