full auto 45
I think I'll do that on my web site. Post a bunch of pictures of Thompson as if they were for sale, and put sold on all of them. Except my 3 digit West Hurley for $16,000, w/FBI case. I wonder if anybody will tell him that those guns were made in 1977 and not 1970? $32,000, http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif . It's hard to stay in my chair on that one.
Sgt
That's 16K each. Assuming market value for WHs is about 13K, that would leave 6K above market. Do you think that is a fair markup to account for the consecutive numbers and accessories?
full auto 45
After adding it up at the average price of the WH parts and guns, he may have around $24-$25k worth of parts. That is if you get 2 "L" drums and 2"C" drums and 2 cases for the guns. Along with some very nice XX mags to put in the box.
Arthur Fliegenheimer
Walter, Those are the hoarder TILLota's TSMG's. So a Colt TSMG set would now fetch $74K?
Walter63a
Thanks Arthur! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif Regards, Walter
full auto 45
Thought I recognized that company from somewhere. Yep, Nick Tolotta. Always several grand above the normal asking price.
AZDoug
Yeah, IIRC, Nick claimed to have reached a collection of 50 TSMG's 4-5 years ago. I seem to recall he said he sold most of them off in the last few years, but I may have dreamed that. Nicks motto was buy low, sell high. :-) I remember asking him about the worth of a particular Colt gun once about 1997, and he told me based on the condition, buy for $3700, sell for $5500-$6000. SecondAmend
Yeah, Nick is in business to make money, for sure. More power to him if he can get the asking price. Out of my league but everything is anymore.
Hawkeye_Joe
When I was hunting he had a Bridgeport M1A1 still available. I wrote him about it and he laughed at my offer... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif I think he wanted 16K for it and he soon had it listed as sold. I just wrote him last week and asked if he was gonna get in any new stock since everything on his site was showing as sold and he said he had some M16's coming in and I was never gonna find a TSMG for the price range I was looking for....(12/ 14K) http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/dry.gif ......I'll keep looking.. I just missed a Savage M1A1 for 12.5K...
