Pics Of M1 Thompson

Recommended Posts

Just finished a two year ordeal to get this M1 transferred to me. After all that I wanted to share with like minded folks...

I think the stock repairs are interesting...

Let me know what everyone thinks.

Thanks for looking

Two years?! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif

Sorry it took so long, but it looks like a nice sub-gun. And it has matching numbers.

Enjoy it! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

Mike,

Whew ... 2 years. Did you receive this transfer via a C&R license?

The inlay on the buttstock is a repair that the British armorers typically put in to fill the gap after moving the sling swivel to the top of the stock. The corrogated shims are a creative way to reinforce cracks in the wood - they are well done and shaped to follow the contours of the stock / grip.

Congrats on your new tommy gun!!

Any history on it?

It looks like it has seen a lot of action.

I wish my Tommy had some war history. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif

Congrats again on the gun.

It's so....you know....British!

But what about the teeth? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Very nice gun by the way. Lots of great stamps. Worth the wait I would say.

Thanks, everyone. A C&R sten was also in the deal, I'll get around to photographing it and post some photos sooner or later. The sten also looks to have some history, it actually has a fading camo pattern paint job!
