Hey Guys,

I am just checking in after our afternoon meeting. Have a few things---

1) Interord - You should have received a tracking number for two new drums, along with a return postage slip to send the drum back that you had issues with. An export permit has been submitted to send the returned drum for evaluation, and I'm certain it will receive thorough examination by the manufacturer.

2) We are starting to get feedback from drums that have been received and shot by customers. So far two customers have called and placed orders for more drums. This is a good sign :-) While I do not know if they bought from this thread or the post at Sturm.com, but soon we will see more feedback I'm sure.

Now here is what I want to put out. I spoke to the boss today, and got approval to make an offer on this thread. Here is what we are looking for:

A high quality video clip of a full auto drum dump

Permission to add our URL watermark and post on our website

Your order number for your drum purchase

Who ever reads this and is the first to provide all three things, we will ship them a free drum as "payment" for the time spent making the video clip. A few things:

a) Determination as to whom was "first" will be done by the time stamp on your reply to this thread with everything we need to download the video.

http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif If you do not have web space to load the video, it can be sent via email to video@keepshooting.com. However you need to post on THIS THREAD to have your video counted. Simply state you emailed the video.

c) If you were one of the beta testers of the drums and already got a freebie, your not eligible for another. Sorry :-) Want to keep things open to people.

Thanks guys, and I'm hoping someone gets a free drum today :-)

-Brian

I shot a video this morming, hope I did this right and it works for you all. Unfortunately the wind was blowing pretty hard so the sound isn't very good.

Brian my order # is 16566 and you can use the video any way you like.

Hey Guys--

Congrats Lancer!!! You did a great job. The only thing I may need to get from you is the video in another format other than Flash, but am not sure yet. I will get everything in to ship your drum as soon as possible!

I spoke to one other person on the phone who was looking to make a video after we hung up. If you end up making a video as well, I will bend the bosses arm until he lets me give you one too.

To everyone else, contest is closed! If you want to however share a video, I'd love to see one.

Thanks guys!

-Brian

Hey Guys--

We had our afternoon meeting and went over what response we were getting from drum customers. Here are some updates--

1) I spoke to a very nice gentleman from this board who had a problem with his. As soon as we receive his, we will be shipping to the manufacturer for evaluation.

2) Out of the last case of 40 drums, over 80% of them were sold to repeat customers. Very encouraging statistic.

3) I have confirmation that this is the first production run that has been done with these drums. So with that in mind, I do believe that we will only see improvements with the next batch. We continue to solicit comments for improvements, and will hope to see them incorporated with future production runs.

4) Our in house translator will be returning from vacation on Monday, so I would expect there to be some information available next week as to time frame for more drums, etc.

Thank you,

-Brian

Tell them to make a 100 round drum (C drum!) http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif

I'll be on board for the next batch, too. It will be interesting to see any improvements to disassembly and markings that might be made. (Look at me, getting picky, when this is already a very nice product!)

Nice job, Lancer!

Hey Guys--

Thought you might like to see the other video that came in. The gentleman who made it reads this board, I will leave it up to him as to whether or not he wants to take credit for his work. I think he should, it's short and sweet clip :-)

Here is the link:

The same gentleman took pictures of his Crosby next to an original A/O drum. We had fun playing guess which drum is which, they look nice like long lost cousins :-)

Enjoy, and if the creator of the video is reading this THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

Thanks again Brian.

Just got home and mine was waiting for me! IT'S GREAT! Best of all, it actually fits in my WH1928... which still has never been fired and never had a drum even placed in it until now. The reason is that I have only ever owned 1 KAHR drum that was so sh*tty that it would probably take a sledge hammer to fit it in the slots. This repro Crosby drum fits perfectly! Not too tight or too loose, but PERFECTLY! Now that I have a drum that fits, I am going to take the Thompson out soon and actually shoot and enjoy it. Based on what I've seen and read, I'm 99% sure there won't be any problems. Thanks Keepshooting!

Lancer, great video. I think yours got there before me. Good job. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif

Just for anyone's interest, I actually took the other video...yeah, the second place guy. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif I thought I might share a couple of points of interest. I used two drums in the videos, one WWII A/O drum and the new "Crosby" drum from Brian. I loaded them both, with American Eagle, 230 grain FMJ ammunition. There was no difference in the loading technique, both loaded exactly the same and appeared to have the same track tolerances. On both of the drums, the covers fit securely and the keys slipped into place and locked (although there is a little key rattle with the "Crosby"). The Thompson I used was a military 1928AC, serial number AO-1XXX93-X (sometimes called the X model), WB and cross cannon marked.

When I loaded the drums into the Thompson, I had to check which was which, to be sure I didn't confuse them. At a casual glance, other than the difference in the finishes, you could actually mix them up. I hope Brian will have the opportunity to post some of the other photos I emailed him, along with the side-by-side videos. If you didn't know which was which...well you wouldn't know, which was, which one.

I have owned a fair number of drums in my life and quite a few copies, but these are utterly amazing (no...I don't work for Brian). The real test of these drum for me will be in March when we will have a number of classes, demos and shoots taking place. I'm sure this drum will be loaded and unloaded well over 100 times. If this drum performs any where near close to how the first 3 loadings and unloadings went, I'll have no complaints. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

After those shoots I'll be sure and post a report.

well the three drums arrived today. packed well, just quick glance through plastic look's nice. out of oily plastic.... a REFRESHING THING! a very nice looking drum.....just think if they decided to make it look like a early Colt serie's in stead of Crosby...i feel for the money a real winner we have here.they have brought drum pricing back to the 70's..

when i first ordered i figured take a stab at three.you can alway's sell two,

well they are all keeper's. and i would suggest everybody to at least get one for shooting.and maybe another to "Rathole away"it has been a long wait for somebody to come on the market with something nice. too bad only 200 tho....since they gave KAHR a run for the money... a sport's place contacted me today to buy a run of KAHR drum's for $185.00........i said no thank you. seem's like the small batch already out there seemed to weigh in...and hurt some drum sale's for them...

maybe Jim Zumbo will like thompson's.and test them in his next job at Kahr .L.L.C..............what get's me Kahr make's them here...and we get these better one's from oversea's, well it should look good in the Kahr semi/s.b.r.{ after P.K. get's his hands on it} and Dan on wood} however the Colt 21a still need's a original drum. Brian good luck in bizz.... you kept the history alive for these drum's..

good video's guy's.. i still say this is the best place on the net..

After all the POSITIVE feed back I just ordered one http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif . only 75 left.

Brian, now all you have to do is make a 100 rnd drum for the market. If your 50rnd drum works, then I would have no trouble buying one. And thank all you guys for all the posting you have done thus far on this subject.

P.s. I hope Kahr is reading all of this and that they are starting to feel the pain. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

Well mine came yesterday(a day late for the video). I got it out of the nice packaging, cleaned the oil off, loaded it up, wound it to 9 clicks and let it set over night. I just got done runing off 100 rnds without a hitch, in short and long bursts. The fit in my 28A1 was perfect ! Definately a keeper & I will order another one. Thanks Brian

PS: I hope you can do a 100 rounder

I couldn't resist after seeing the videos and hearing all the positive reports, so I just placed my order. I hope that they're not out yet!
