The 'c' Drums Are Here!

Recommended Posts

http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif Got my new 'C' drum #276 and will try it out this weekend. Haven't gotten around to cleaning it yet!

These are the ones from Drum Mags in Wakefield MA, which so happen to be from Kahr.

This weekend I'll give it the ol' high school try!

Are you telling us that the long awaited, long suffering Kahr 100 rd. drum is now being delivered to customers??????????

Please verify this. I thought they were still having trouble with the prototypes? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/huh.gif

I've got it in my hot little hands. I'm just not feeling so great after learning about the moonie http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/banghead.gif connection.

This was from a 'group buy' referenced somewhere about 1 yr or so ago on these pages.

It was 'Drum Mags'.

I checked all of your previous posts (you only have 9) I don't see where you were ever involved with ANY group buy for C drums, at least not here. Damon is the only one I can remember talking about organizing a group buy for Kahr C drums and to my knowledge that never came about.

Are you sure the buy was organized here?

I just remember saying that I would take one. Maybe it was someone else, but I got snail mail from Drum Mags in Wakefield MA. The order ltr was postmarked 25 Oct 2006.

drummags@hotmail.com. Guy called me several weeks ago saying the drums were in and they were going to charge my card and send the drum. Which they did, on both counts.

I have the drum and I thought it was the result of saying 'I'll take one' to one of the group buys.

Now I guess there is a mystery as to how I got on the mailing list. Doesn't mean I did not forget how it came about though. These memory things are getting more and more... er.. happening a lot more. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif

As time goes by...

mattmer,

I hope your C-drum works out for you, but I have my doubts when Kahr is involved. I personally have no desire for a C-drum... the weight of a semi is bad enough without adding 100 rounds to that.

Are you saying that a fully loaded "C" Drum is not worth the temporary weight restriction for a 100 round full auto dump? Come on! If the Kahr drums work, I will consider purchasing one after I hear from the experienced ones here.

No. If I had a full auto Thompson, I would definately want a C-drum. In a semi, it's not a matter of holding it up for seconds, but actually, much longer. It sucks to be able to own semi auto only, but it's better than nothing.

Does "Drum Mags" have a web site? Can you tell us how much it went for?

Last August at the TATA shoot we got to try 3 prototype mags. One of the 3 worked very well. A Kahr rep was there, too.

It was a heavy sucker. By the time I got the sights lined up where I wanted them my arm got tired of holding the Thompson. Kind of like balancing 2 boxes of ammo on top of the receiver. But I still want one! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Hey guys,

Don't forget that Damon at www.tommygunner.com can order these new drums also! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

He is a board member and an authorized Kahr distributor.

After the great success of the Kahr L drums that I experienced, I am sure to buy the new C drum from this outstanding reputable company. I like Mike's idea for a matching numbered drum, so I'll get mine to match the '28. Will someone let me know when Kahr gets to the 469300 series of C drums?

Are those crickets I hear or is it a stuck spring?

It could be the sound of somebody's little crow bar, trying to pry a warped cover off, so they can dig out all that jammed ammo. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

Thats A LOT of ammo to be stuck http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

That is odd. I posted a range report a week ago! (Then again, maybe I just previewed and didn't finish!)

Did 2 C drum dumps. First one, about 20 rds thru, a cartridge got cockeyed, like drug on something. I straightened out with a .308 bullet tip (in cartridge) and it dumped fine. The second went without a hitch. I got the feeling that the spring was a little weak, though. Just a feeling.

The cover was very tight.

I also dumped 2 new repro Crosby drums for fellas. These both opened like fitted gloves!

1. AOK all the way.

2. 180 degrees from feed, cartidges were too tight in the grooves so it hung up. Contacting company to see if it can be replaced.

I am satisfied. $559 for a C drum that works is ok. We'll see about longevity.

We had that problem at the TATA shoot in August. Kahr rep brought 3 C drums. One worked fine every time, the other 2 had the problem where it would stop firing. When the drum was removed there was a round sitting sideways in the feed area. After removing it, the drum would finish emptying.

Tracie and the Kahr rep figured that there was a few thousandths inch off on some spec.

Overall, the felt very sturdy. It even had the hole in the center spindle, like an old drum.

I was surprised to see a Kahr rep there. Hopefully they used all the input they got there to make it right.

Well the reviews are encouraging... I'm still on the fence about buying one unless I can mount a bipod on the fore grip somewhere. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/huh.gif

You must have a semi-auto only gun.

I had a WH 27A5 pistol with a WH C drum.

Man it weighed a ton loaded and it had no stock on it either! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif
