  1. Hiya RKIs... I hope some of you are also Garand people. Any idea what I could get for the Garand listed below? This comes from a distant WWII vet relative. I have two others which are less valuable and I need some cash to purchase a mobility scooter or else I would keep it. The bullet guide, buttplate and stock are the only items which are not "correct" for the serial number. I am thinking of taking it to Cabelas.
  2. Hey Guys, Back in 2003 I had this great plan that I would end up with a semi auto M1A1 to add to my WWII weapons collection. Well several spinal surgeries and disability later it is just not going to happen. But that January I bought a bunch of magazines for the Thompson. I have 8 20 round mags and 18 30 round mags. The 20 rnd mags are all used and have varying degrees of bluing remaining. One has the soldered holes. The 30 round mags consist of 5 still in a grease wrapping, 3 that are parkerized and 10 that are blued and in great shape. The ones not in the wrapping have varying degrees of grease inside them. They are doing me no good and have been in my gun chest for 13 years now. I would like to get them to someone who can get some use out of them. What are they going for now.. ? What is fair pricing? And does anyone on this forum want them? (local laws allowing of course) Cheers See photos.. http://www.51hangar.net/mags/1.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/2.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/3.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/5.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/6.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/7.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/8.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/9.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/10.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/11.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/12.jpg http://www.51hangar.net/mags/4.jpg
  3. Here is one I'll bet most everyone hasn't seen. "You Can't Win 'Em All" with Tony Curtis and Charles Bronson. (1970) I remember this from about 20 years ago + on TV. Youtube has what appears to be the whole movie.. the Thompson part starts here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUqrwJCvKhQ...feature=related The movie poster is available on Amazon..
  4. There was some obscure "syndicated" show a few years ago about a treasure hunter, loosely based upon "Tomb Hunter" who was diving on a wreck and found a bunch of Thompsons (they even showed a fake damaged one). Thing is it was fiction, someone might be mixing reality with fiction and spreading it as truth.
  5. So the problem is the length of the barrel here or the internal possibilities of conversion to full-auto? That is why this has not been accomplished here? And I assume that these are non-importable to the US. Cheers.
  6. There is a new video game associated with the King Kong movie. I saw a comercial and in one shot the "player" was carrying a Thompson. Looked pretty good in the couple seconds I saw. Cheers,
  7. May I suggest PT's on the east side. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

  9. If you watch the lower left window border of your explorer as you cross over the links in the frauds or watch that as you goto them you will generally see ***.ru From Russia with Love indeed.
  10. Sure was a great day. I enjoyed it very much. I still get a big grin thinking about that drum dump.
  11. QUOTE (Roland, Headless Thompson Gunner @ Oct 31 2004, 06:13 PM) They may have been prop jobs but the Corsair downed the first Mig in Korea, as the legend has it. Ever see "The Bridges at Toko Ri"? They used the props of the Corsairs to berth the aircraft carrier. Well actually I believe it was a P-80(F-80) that got the first Mig. Also, weren't those A-1 Spads on the carrier?
  12. They were thinking one of two things.. 1. We got plenty of Mustangs, who needs a big blue lead sled. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif 2. Jets.. We need Jets.. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif
  13. Geez Brickyard, I didn't know it was your birthday, today. Happy Birthday!! Least wise he spent it having fun today.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/bassetleader/SMG/Brickyard.jpg Full_Auto_45 and Brickyard where kind enough to invite me to a MG shoot where they were both kind enough to let me fire their Thompsons and Brickyard's MP40. Great wonderfull guys. And the guns were ok too! Thanks again guys, I truly enjoyed it and appreciated it.
  14. I tried to ship a M1 Carbine and M1 Garand off via UPS to a repair location, and was told that I could not do so. Course the local idiots wanted to know if I could remove the barrel so it would not be shootable. Alot of this comes from the idiots manning the local shipping locations, their complete lack of understanding of weapons and some built in prejudice against gun owners they seem to have.
  15. Oh, I am not voting for him. Last Democrat I voted for was Evan Byah, and look where that got me. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif
  16. QUOTE (Walter63a @ Oct 9 2004, 12:18 PM)Regarding the four Kerry supporters, I believe you guys somehow ended up on the wrong website. [For a gun owner in the U.S.A. to support Kerry is the EQUIVALENT OF PUTTING A LOADED PISTOL IN YOUR MOUTH AND AND PULLING THE TRIGGER!!!] Communists and Nazis for Kerry is another site entirely, believe it or not!! Regards, Walter Well Walter one of those was me. I figgured if no one put Kerry in, it would be a pretty dull topic!!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  17. Thanks PhilOhio. However, I already own 3 garands, 1 from CMP directly and two through other's resales. Idiots. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif The one directly from CMP was a Springfield 545XXX April 1942 with original barrel. Beautiful green gray park. I encourage everyone to take advantage of that organization's sale of these great weapons.
  18. So are we looking at a flood of M1 Garands, M1 Carbines and 1911a1s now?
  19. I might tell you if the money is right.. $$$$ http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif Thompson Greed Baby, the best kind where no thompson material changes hands. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Now thats Greedy! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif (Just kidding Mike!)
  20. I stumbled across this web address. They had a few good thompson photos and numerous other photos. Enjoy. Oh yeah, one more thing. PK is the best. nuff said. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/fsowhome.html Samples: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/bassetleader/Thompsons/8e00018v.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/bassetleader/Thompsons/8b02867r.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/bassetleader/Thompsons/8b05406r.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/bassetleader/Thompsons/8d31776r.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/bassetleader/Thompsons/8b04055r.jpg
  21. I have one (1) brand new in the box Kahr 1927A-1 for sale. I need $835.00 plus shipping. Email me @ kcook51nospam@sbcglobal.net Thanks!
  22. Got my 10 Tapco 30 round magazines this PM. All but one appear as good as new. The other has some discolorization but other than that is in excellent shape aswell.
  23. Yeah that description has definately changed. I ordered 10 first thing Friday morning and I distinctly remember it saying that they were so good that they were afraid of messing them up with fingerprints. I have bought 20rd mags from them before and they were in very good condition with 90% or better bluing left and no rust. Of course I used the "handpick" option.
  24. Heck with the Thompson! I want the M3/M5 Stuart!! Where did you get that at? The Japanese Tank, was that a cut in of actual footage?
  25. These Ebay guys crack me up. They removed by M1 Garand Bolt, but are leaving a Thompson SMG bolt there, as well as several other M1 bolts that had been on days. Mine was up less than 10 hours!! I think that posting to the "Hunting" Category is the way to go. I will see.
