  1. I regret to inform the community, that Robert “Bob” Starer of Cape Henry Virginia, passed away yesterday. He was surrounded by his loving Family and wife, who he always declared was more than his equal. Bob was an amazing wealth of knowledge, he had the an incredible vast collection. And he was always quick to pull one off the wall to share it on the range. He was always willing to teach the younger generations. He had great unbounding patience for youth, always teaching my sons the importance of respect. God Bless you Bob, thank you for sharing and all the life lessons Andrew Loiacono
  2. I reached out to the seller, about another item ( 21 Thompson Barrel), that was up for auction from the same seller. I am assuming that both the barrel and the buttstock Dpedersen acquired are from the same person. Someone on this forum may know who or what collection it came from by the sellers response. I'm not asking to know but, it may help TD, with his research question about the Denver Thompson's. And this was his response to me: "Thank you for reaching out! Yes this barrel came from the same collection that the rest of our Thompson items in this auction came from. The consignor that we received these items from, though we are not allowed to disclose personal information, I can give that his name is Robert R. from CO. His Thompson collection is one of the most astute collections I've seen from a Thompson collector, and though he wasn't willing to part with everything, we still got some amazing pieces to put on auction. There are still a couple items going into the next auction in a couple weeks. There was a note with this barrel that says (Though hard to read his handwriting) "Source Topeka Kansas". Not sure if that will help with anything. This is from a comprehensive and serious collector so I have no suspicions about the authenticity of the items collected including the barrel. His notes for the barrel "One of a Kind Super Rare Find 1921A 1921 Spare Barrel For Colt Thompson unused, Source Topeka Kansas. " Hope it helps, Andy
  3. Glad someone from the forum got it! I was bidding on that itembut, the Admiral peaked over my shoulder and reminded me I have 4 kids that will need to go to college
  4. I have just begun my fore into combat shotguns, thanks in no part to Sandman. Always looking, and learning about the different models throughout their evolution. But, I have to admit, if I bought this one my wife's head would explode...I barely survived the Thompson I pried away from Sandman. https://www.legacy-collectibles.com/rifles/shotguns/rarest%20%20of%20the%20ww2%20trench%20shotguns%20-%20ithaca%20model%2037.html Many thanks to all of you who have shared your vast knowledge on this and many other subjects on this board Andy Sorry, edited title as it looked like I was selling. My apologies
  5. I agree with Sandman, fun to shoot especially w/ an integral suppressor. BWE out of FL sells replacement parts, Ive purchased springs from him. The owner has in the past been quick to respond to emails. His extractors have been back ordered for a while on his web site, and in fairness I havent contacted him to to see if/when theyd be avail again https://bwefirearms.com/ Andy

  9. Sandman, I'm happy that you are finally going to have a Colt Back in your Stable, and a unique one at that! I know you haven't been able to sleep soundly at night since April, when you let your last one go to a good home! Cheers, Andy
  10. I just communicated with Richard, via text. He is doing fine and healthy but, stuck in Canada. He wanted me to convey to everyone that he is "currently offline and will be back up and running as soon as the border opens." He is currently working on the next catalog to be released and soon as gets back to his shop". He is available by phone call or text. Andy
  11. Tiz, I received #25, this past Thursday! Wow, WOW! I have to say just awesome! It is a piece of Real solid built American Craftsmanship. I love owning it! Thanks again, Happy Easter! CaribRadDoc
  12. Richard Garcia, TommyGunCollectible, converted one for me. I wanted a knurled actuator to fit the look of my Colt, and since I'm a relative newbie and do not have a bunch of spare parts. He sold me the Savage Actuator, converted it and shipped it to me in about a 5-6 week turn around time. Seems like you have a few good options..
  13. I whole heartedly agree. Richard converted a '28 Savage knurled actuator for me, with a near one month turn around time. It ran like a top in my '28 overstamp, during my conjugal visit Sandman's Palace. Unfortunately, I can't submit pics as I left it in the weapon......sorry guys. I know he would happily do the same for anyone else. Andy

  18. Duke, You may want to pm JoJeep, he had listed both Doug Richardson '28 and M1 receivers and parts for sale a little while ago. I know he had listed them on GB. I just checked and couldn't find them. But, that could be use error only part. Here is the listing he had. http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23629&p=209779 Enjoy the search, or so they say!! Andy
