Real Cheap Drums

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone! I just wanted everyone to know, I'v found a CHEAPPP source of 50 rd. drums at Numrich! I spotted it online on saturday, but had to wait till today to confirm the price was correct, I thought it was a typo or old ad, the price was so low. They are selling the Crosby marked repro drums for $129.95 and the saleslady said they have a real good supply of them. Unbelieveable low price for what everyone has been saying is a pretty darn good drum. Just please, save one for me! I have to wait till friday to take advantage of this price. I know there are some of you that could easily order 5 or more at a time, I might have to hit you up for 1 if they are sold out by friday.

I noticed that ad and their comment on markings. These appear to be the second generation of Chinese repros, which work fine and only need a shot of grease. Buy 'em up fast, guys, before Michelle Obama says you can't.

"...to save the children...", I mean.

This price makes them cheaper than Fortunelot. The item number listing for this drum online states they are stamped "Crosby" so unless they have failed to update their listing these should still be some from the first batch made and not the later batch that didn't carry the Crosby markings. I've got one coming on Thurs. Will let you know how it's marked. Are we all getting paranoid that there's going to be another large capacity magazine ban? And what is going on with ammo sales? I have never seen such a depleted inventory of all sizes of ammo available from retailers. Are people expecting a ban on ammunition, a civil war? These are dark days, commies now running the country. The future looks bleak, I didn't think I would ever see something like this happen in my lifetime.

Mike Hammer, I think people are expecting both a ban and a civil war! They (democraps) are working furiously on gunban bills, ammo ban bills, bills to turn over all decision making responsibility to the att.general, who would most likely ban everything thats not owned by the government. they're also working on conservative talk radio bans. When they get that done, they will have free rein to do anything they want with no opposing press coverage. Obama will raise his Civilian ARMY that he's talked about, then start the process of going door to door to confiscate dirty evil guns. When that happens, there will be a civil war. At least at my door! I don't get around too well, need to use a wheelchair a lot, but byGOD, I will not give away my liberty without a fight. I Spent too many years in the Military fighting against communism, to let that socialist sob waltz in and tell me that he's protecting me and mine by taking my guns. I spent nearly 12 years working as a cop, so I know the cops can't protect me from crime. Only a gun can do that.

I just paid for my Gunbroker auction buy of the Crosby Numrich drum. I think if you call first, they give a coupon code for free standard shipping. 866-NUMRICH (866-686-7424), chose option "1", then listen for the recording. BTW, I got hosed on the whole Gunbroker deal: more expensive and no free shipping! Go get 'em, boys....

Also, I bet they are not marked like the original drums....

Ok, I never bought one yet because "did I really need one more drum"?????? so I broke down and bought two of them today. Thanks for the heads up on the price.

On the gunpowder ammo etc... supply, I've been looking at my distributor catelogs and such and there isn't even any available at that level? Local gun show here this weekend sold out of .223 in about 5 minutes....

All,

When someone gets one of these drums, please post pictures. I would like to find out if it is any different than the first batch from a couple of years ago.

the ammunition manufacturers' are still ordering tooling, if anything, they are increasing their orders. across the shop, i saw .22, 5.56, 9mm, .45acp, and .50 caliber tooling being turned up tonite. good thing too, as warren buffet said about the economy going off a cliff, most of our other work, for non-ammunition tooling, has followed the economy over that cliff.

At this price, why not get another one! I was also told there were plenty in stock.

The coupon code for a discount in shipping during the on line ordering process is 2560. Every little bit helps.

Mine has shipped UPS. Couple of days I guess. Looking at the picture on their site, it doesn't look like it is marked at all,

though this could be deceiving. Also, do they run out of the box? And, the question begs: MADE IN CHINA stamped or a sticker we can peel off?

well, it's not exactly free shipping. the shipping charge for this drum is $8.95. the coupon code 3504 takes off $5.95, leaving a balance for you of $3.00 to pay. like another poster remarked, "every little bit helps". Shipping charges are based on $ amount of purchase, not on weight of purchase

Got my drum today. NICE! Marked CROSBY BUFFALO N.Y. Metal is a few thousandths thinner than my 10rd Kahr drum. Nice dark blue. No ripples on side of drum like my Kahr. The key is a bitch to get off but it looks well made.

Data plate Plate had the "THOMSPSON" milled off. Note stapled to invoice "We have made a slight cosmetic alteration to the data plate on the front of the drum". Thats why they priced them cheap. Slides in and out of my 1927A1 very easy and locks up tight. Hope it functions as well as it looks.

Mine arrived today. Same as described by RDS. These are from the first batch and are marked Crosby. Other side has Wind to 9 clicks. And yes the word THOMPSON has been milled off of the plate, it does not really detract from the looks as it was done before being blued. The erasure of the Thompson name was done due to Kahr's threats of a lawsuit against anyone but them using the THOMPSON name. Add yet another sub-species to the myriad of Thompson drums.
