i have only gotten a basic email back in response at this point and left a phone msg for the seller.

im asking for more detailed photo's of it dissembled

sounds like the gun is still available

im looking for opinions on what you see so far? looks like a nice gun and a honest price and i like (2) drums as a bonus

what is the value of the drums?

just ordered the tracie hill book and am getting going on learning

also another one on the NFA board -1921 for $30k (im assuming a shooter grade) serial # 9110....he's a dealer so im looking into that one too....im going to shoot it a couple of times a year, so perfection and paying $45k isnt what im looking for, but i also dont want a Dog of a gun that i can resell some day....i want an investment i can enjoy and shoot once in a while.

thanks!

here's some photo's from sn 9110 on the NFA market board for $30k...i see some rust and the wood has been refinished

i originally wanted a WW2, but after seeing these (2) at somewhat reasonable prices for a Colt it got me thinking which would be the better investment.....i dont have an issue w/ being in the mid/high $20's for a WW2 in great condition, but the opportunity to get a colt for $30k may be the better choice investment wise...shooter wise id have fun with either.

The Cutts looks different then my 28N. All Navy's have the Type II ? ( or type I)

OCM,

The 1928 Navy Models had both types of compensators, depending on when they were sold/ordered. The more common type on Navy Models seems to be the 2nd Type.

huggytree,

Why do you say the wood has been refinished? The picture of the butt stock looks like it may have a fresh coat of linseed oil on it, but the color of the wood looks correct. A fresh coat of oil would cause the flash to reflect the light, making it look like it has a polyurethane finish. You'd have to see it in person to determine if it has been truly refinished or just freshened up with linseed oil. The grips look correct to me and don't appear messed with.

Colt Chopper is correct, the butt stock slide has been replaced with a WWII variety slide. The butt stock itself could be original, it doesn't have a sling swivel, but this gun would warrant in in-person inspection for originality.

When was your last email from him, when I was shopping I sent him an email and he replied it was sold. That was on 11/21/2015. Perhaps it is/was a different gun. Looks the same. I am referring to the Navy.

the pics are from the new $30k gun listed....the owner told me it is refinished..

i can see what appears to be rust on the right side...i notice he didnt send me many pics of the right side.....i asked for better pics and he said 'what rust'...when i blow up one of the pics i sure see rust

im also considering Sandman 1957's 1928ac....he's still got it and it may be a good match for me....since im looking for a mix of shooter and collector/good condition

waiting for reply from him and more pics.....im in the market, but have time to wait for the right quality gun.....

saw that.....its scary stuff....i had gotten multiple e-mails from them w/ pics and they were aggressive on getting me to make an offer..glad i saw the condition and it turned me off....there are deals that are too good to be true that are real once in a while....so its hard to tell a scam from real sometimes

I talked to J. Cebe on the phone for half an hour or so.

I dont think it was a scam or else he would have said; "Ya send me money" instead of "its sold".

Scams are supposed to make money right or am I missing something ?

Perhaps someone stole his ad.
