Anyone ever hear of a $125,000 semi-auto FG42?

So I was browsing Gunbroker and came across this action:

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/938981551

It is a DEW "exact replica" of the T1 FG42. It is 1 of 3 supposedly made. Now before I get too cynical, I thought I would ask you guys your thoughts. No way in I would ever drop that kind of coin on a repro, especially with the SMG guns out there at 5% of the cost. At that point, I would just start saving for a real one... Anyway, thought I'd share!

Years ago.....when Estes-Adams teamed up with another man up in Washington state (??) early 2000s time frame.........then went on trying to gather funds for a production of a semi-only model of the 1st-Model FG42. Due to funding, etc........the project seemed to die out.....with money being lost in the time-frame of the project.

I seemed to recall that Estes-Adams was only involved in the R&D side of things.....but can not recall the other man's name.

Seeing the "DEW" as the manufacturer of this weapon, and the additional "spare-parts" in box.........is this the old Company (?)......maybe one of the proto-types (?).

Anyway.....would be interesting to hear more about this gun......the "DEW"......and the outcome of the Gun-Broker-Auction.

Estes actually produced some parts for the 2nd type FG42 from what I recall but, also, not any complete guns.
I also would be interested in the story of "DEW", who they were, when they were making these guns, their history, what quantities of parts, etc were produced, what happened to them, etc, and all the usual details. I've been around MGs a very long time and with a corresponding interest in the FGs including owing a vintage example and this outfit and their semi have never been visible.

It is claimed that all original internals of a type 1 FG will fit the receiver of this semi version in which case it would not be legal or importable as a "semi-MG" under ATF's semi configuration requirements. So that is a question. Plus if the owner is searching for a buyer, where can the gun be seen and handled? FWIW

Again.....not sure of the name/spelling.......but wasn't the other person in that FG42 semi-only project a "David-Wilcoxen" up in Washington state (?).

This may be the gun that was made to show-off and build up sales for the project (?).

Maybe that is what the "DEW" on the receiver was for (?).

I know that Adams bought some parts for the FG of SSD in Germany, and he tried to make a deal of buying a load of receivers from SSD. The deal fell through, and i think that ended the FG project that time. I am guessing the magazines are from SSD to.

That price is insane
