Is it just a spot on Mail Call (5-10 minutes) or is the entire show (30 minutes) dedicated to it?

Is the Thompson the featured gun, or is it an overview of several Mgs?

It's the overall mg. He was walking around the sales building and talking with dealers and buying things for himself. If they show him buying a holster for his 1911, look for me standing next to the gunny.

This is right off the History channel's page. It does look like the entire show is on the Creek. Do I smell another price spike in our toys? Yep, and it stinks. wink.gif

QUOTE
Knob Creek Gun Range: #90.
Airs on Thursday, December 22 at 11:30pm ET

Host R. Lee Ermey heads to Knob Creek Gun Range in West Point, Kentucky, outside of Fort Knox, for the Knob Creek Shoot, a weekend when machine-gun owners and collectors converge for unbridled mayhem. At this former military-munitions test range, shooters nationwide come to buy, sell, and trade. First, the Gunny shows us around, talks about the history, hits sales tables, and fires off a few thousand rounds--from state-of-the-art to early vintage. Next, Lee takes a turn on the "Jungle Walk", a machine-gun shooting course with hidden targets and dense brush to recreate what it was like for the grunts in Viet Nam; and he gets a lift on a mule to the Knob Creek helipad where he goes aloft in a Cayuse OH-6A Helicopter for the range's aerial shooting course. Then, it's the night shoot, when you really get to see raw power as machine guns shoot tracers and fire at targets filled with diesel fuel and dynamite, incinerating cars, refrigerators, and oil drums.  TVPG L

I watched it. It was alright. No spikes in price because of that show.

Our own Junglewalk guy featured in the show is a member of this site and guess what his onsite name is? Junglewalk44 or something like that... wink.gif

Only one very brief shot of a 1928 TSMG in the entire show. For some reason the producers showed this guy firing his M-16/M203 with two flashlights mounted more than any other weapon. I guess they thought the flashlights were actually muzzles? Best thing was Lee firing the M-60 from the Loach. This half hour segment is still better than the entire "Fire Storm In The Desert" video.

The show may effect prices for Chaffee tanks though.

The show was OK, but you can see just as much action in a Stallone or one of Arnold's movies with all the newer lead spitters. Too bad there was just a brief glimpse of a Thompson. I personally would enjoy something like this if it focused on the Tommy, with some MP-40, MG 42, Bars etc. Perhaps Mike can make a DVD on shooting the classics, this could be a companion to his long awaited calendar. I certainly would buy it. What do you think Mike, can it be done?

This thread morfed a little bit about prices going up because of showing people shooting MGs..and having fun doing it.We hear of the graying of the NFA community and the negative effects of this...well it is programs like this that brings in `new` blood to keep this whole industry going...this was free publicity targetting a very specific viewing audience...jmo... wink.gif
