  2. Maine-iac, The case looks fabulous! I really like your porch. Is it to the home, or your workshop? V/R Karl, 68coupe

  4. " BTW if you want the colorful list of Restricted and Sales Sample.. I found looking at the inventory doesn't work. However if you start up a new eForm 3, put your license in application and go to Line Item and Add Firearm. In the popup click View by example button next to the View dropdown list. Red it Restricted, Orange is sample sales. Thank you Got Uzi for that information. I will create a signed letter for the firearms I am wondering about. Strangely one Pre86 I would have thought was police purchased, but it still is listed as sales sample." Thats good and all but what if you possess a "pre dealer sample Mp5" and are a retired C3 from 20 years ago? How do you find out if the gun is now a tranny?
  5. You can’t just go look at your inventory. You have to create a mock, Form 3 or a mock form 4. More accurate to what you can add to a form The Form 3 will just show you colors but the form 4 will actually let you add it You can add it to a Form 3 with no demo and they still will accept it. Of course it probably would get denied. But a form 4 if they let you add it to the form that to let you know that it’s been changed? I don’t know. They should send out letters to dealers if there inventory has been changed
  6. And like that, it's finished! I suppose one minor question would be, what would have been packed into the small corner compartment of the case? A small cleaning kit seems appropriate, but past that, there's not much space available for parts.
  7. I still see NO official ATF statement of this. The variations and permutations of POSSIBLE scenarios that are flying around are interesting. All this, again. without official, written statements from ATF. Next,,,how many angels can dance on the head of pin!! Okrana
  8. It's not 'plastic' ammo. It's a sub-caliber hard steel projectile with a plastic compound to hold it in place and feed properly. When fired, the plastic disintegrates and the little steel ball goes down the smoothbore barrel with a high velocity. But, it loses speed quickly and doesn't even travel 100 meters. I used to shoot skeet with my Swedish K. It's more difficult than with a shotgun. Back when this stuff first came into the country, several folks tried to make barrels for it. Most used .22lr barrels and quickly found out that the hardened steel 'bb' wore out the bore in short order. Others didn't get the chamber dimensions correct, and functioning was problematic. The ammo is Berdan primed, and the plastic matrix holding the steel ball leaves a black dust behind that will get into everything. So, if you shoot this ammo, you will need to clean thoroughly after you use it. But, it's a lot of fun that you can shoot at shorter ranges without worrying about where your bullets go. They are hard steel, so do NOT use on steel targets!!!
  9. Just imagine the results if back in February or March ATF had issues a statement saying "We are currently reviewing the status of a significant number of pre-86 dealer sample guns, possibly as many as 4000. These guns may have been misclassified and upon completion of the review will have their status changed to transferable. We expect the review will be completed in 60 to 90 days." There would have been no confusion or anger, no possibility of leaked information resulting in extremely profitable purchases, nothing but a lot of very happy gun owners. The only short-term effect would have been a drop to zero in the number of pre-sample transfers during that period. Sometimes the process is more important than the end result
  10. This all started back in March I believe when Morphy’s announced the auction and the three guns were listed. It’s funny that I’m all that time there is still no official letter from ATF saying it’s legit, even tho Jeff Folloder at NFATCA is 110% sure it’s legit and happened since he has been in constant communication with the high ups at ATF and he’s more informed than those working at ATF-NFA. Here’s a shot of the last post he made on HKPro before he closed all the threads about it, funny how no one will answer the end run around the verbiage of the 1968 GCA or “where’s the documentation”
  11. The latest Form 4 PDF is extra messed up and I don't do eForm 4s anymore either. The eform website sucks, you can't make corrections on an eform if there is anything the ATF takes issue with, and personally I want a returned approved application with a live tax stamp applied if there is ever a conflict with the ATF about the gun or transfer. After over 100 NFA applications over the past 20+ years, I don't honestly just don't care if the transfer takes two days or two years anymore. Anyway what I have done is use PDF24 (which is a free PDF viewer/creator) and you can remake the Return to Registrant and CLEO copies of the form pretty easily. Just use the "ATF Copy" which is fillable and resave it after removing the "ATF Copy" red font and replace it with "Return to Registrant" and "CLEO" in red font at the bottom and resave two more separate files. Usually while I am at it fixing whatever issues the ATF provided forms have I also remove all of the instruction pages as well so I don't have to dance around what pages to print/not-print. You will still have to fill each of the three versions as the subsequent pages won't auto-populate but you will have the three correct forms. Best advice I can offer. Good Luck
  12. Well... isn't that 2 piece now a collector's piece? 😆
  13. BTW if you want the colorful list of Restricted and Sales Sample.. I found looking at the inventory doesn't work. 14. It makes me wonder a bit if the buyers of the "unicorn" transferable MP5s discovered, after they committed $80k+ for their incredible rarities, that there are, in fact, possibly a couple thousand that suddenly also became transferable? Maybe I'm mistaken (would not be first time), but it seemed that the Forgotten video and general discussions of "4000" new transferables didn't happen until (?) after the auction? Anyone know the timing? The big spenders may be quite disappointed if it all came out after they bought their guns. Hopefully I'm mistaken about the timing and everyone was updated on the "news" prior to the auction...
  15. He hasn't determined the price, said he would when he gets it and does a little checking.
  16. There is this one on eBay right now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/116175451134?itmmeta=01HXG70J9DFRRYB19XE5X98WK8&hash=item1b0c98b3fe:g:HLUAAOSw4HVWCftL&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0EfnvUI9np%2FvqfQ8msYWkDFZ%2BiN8nRSFRh4h5mQHvza4mt5HHe9WTBowz%2BXG0yznlRq2cDOfd67391XL937NGclNUoAFY0c1DWOFoECv60uu%2FWZv4ALDat0nnXR6nSJQzWfu%2BVdVg5wkLRcrHMmb63Jqi%2Fz4udTakWRaU5%2BI5sMnZIF3YR8FnCKh4k2vaCrovS9QkYVO0CVJWcV%2FdmgwP9u4FB7zzMrpy7fGjN55Va4GSgBliNkKLp4ayw1gMnauA70JH9dNCRxhmS5gSalpxi8%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-SkgofsYw
  17. Based on their listing you forfeit any claim after 120 days and is all the longer they will take them back for a refund. I know used car dealers around here that do better than that on the car, and they will guarantee the title is legit and clear forever, but your title at murphys is only good for 120. It would be at least 200 days before a transfer would clear to me as a buyer. LOL We have entered new territory where a seller can't/won't guarantee a gun is transferable past 120 days? That's sort of a red flag, no?
  18. But...but... aren't Federal firearms crimes investigated by the ATF?? 😂
  19. Yesterday
  20. It comes down to an SEC violation for insider commodities information as we all know these are referred to as investments and are bought as such. Could be very interesting
  21. There were some amazingly fortuitous purchases made in the runup to this policy change. Unfortunately that means that there were some very unlucky sellers as well. The question must be asked, was it all pure dumb luck on the part of all the buyers or were some of them privy to inside information either through ATF or NFATCA? If there was in fact insider trading going on what laws were broken and by whom and what remedy is available to the sellers?
  22. Some people are just not interested in keeping such artifacts. What is most important is that somebody who does value these items picks them up and preserves them rather than them being discarded into the trash bin and lost forever.
  23. Can anyone corroborate the story about how Dick allegedly got a ton of those machine guns? The one told to me was simply amazining. I had the honor and good fortune to meet Dick, and visit his "movie theater"....great joy! Okrana
  24. Ian has quite the mustache. Wow. I own a m14 and yes, its a handful on FA, but with practice you can make it work. With a GI bipod, it's as good as gold. The BM59 on the other hand might edge the m14 out from the shoulder in FA, but that bipod sucks.
