Waffen Und Bier
It's a 600,000 range Savage M1A1. According to the stock markings, it's been rebuilt at Augusta (?) and Mount Rainier. New blued Savage barrel on it. Non numbered lower. Only took nine plus months for the CLEO signed Form 4 to get approved.Sorry about the quality. CSAA rebuild markings too faint to show up with the phone camera I have. MR showed up okay. One day I'll buy a real camera, but that takes money away from machine gun purchases, so...... jim c 351
Nice Thompson. congratulations. The grenade looks like a dud to me. Have you ever tested it?? Jim C
mnshooter
Correct early style fuse on that dummy grenade, too. Nice.
Waffen Und Bier
Thanks, gents. They are empty and the fuses have been popped. When shopping for ordnance, I make it a habit to always ask before I pick it up to examine it. I've never had anyone say "It's live" or "I don't know." Fortunately, I have enough (well, the bare minimum) for my collection and don't have to run the risks purchasing more.

TopN
Nice pictures. I picked up a decent camera a couple months ago and still can't figure out the art of taking good pictures. A few years ago I picked up a good (not great) camera that took close-ups, so I could post pictures on the BM59 board. Still couldn't get good close-ups. I then got a 19.95 tripod at WalMart that allowed the camera to point straight down between the legs - problems solved! I could mess with focus, lighting, whatever - the tripod made the pictures repeatable & therefore fixable.

buzz
nice pictures Guns are hard to photograph well. Seems like you need a lot of indirect lighting, lots of illumination but nothing at will reflect off the gun.
shadycon
With even mid range cameras you can get decent close ups. Take your pic a little farther away and at a high resolution. With Photo software [Adobe is good and easy to use] you can clean up your pic. To make a close up you can 'crop' the pic any size you like. Then you can resize to 800x600 for posting on websites. For real close ups of markings or small parts a Macro setting and tripod is best. GK
Kilroy
The camera I have now is a Canon T3i. It's a good camera and I am learning about it and adjustments like aperture settings etc. Right now I am on a back up laptop that is barely capable of running windows so any heavy programs like photoshop is out of the question. Since I really only use the computer for browsing the Internet I can't justify buying a new one when I can put that money towards something more exciting.... Like ammo. Here are some shots that I took of the USMC Scout-Sniper team I took a while back and a picture I was just messing around with the other day trying to be creative with the BAR and the WWI gunners belt. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa54/RedSpecialSS/06cb554658259405cd65cb7506a05509_zps4be88102.jpghttp://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa54/RedSpecialSS/IMG_1536_zps37fd795e.jpghttp://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa54/RedSpecialSS/IMG_1543_zps697307c8.jpg

Waffen Und Bier
Thanks guys. Nice displays, Kilroy. I have seen it on Springfields, M1 rifles, and M1 icarbines, but have never noticed on a TSMG stock. First Sergeant
I have a stock with a similar "P" mark on a stock that came on my amnesty registered matching Savage 1928A1. No way of telling if the stock is original to the gun. I am not currently home so I am unable to get a reminder look at it to verify location and wether it is identitcal to the the OP'S photo. I am sure others here can chime in on how common this is. I have seen one other marked this way.
